A Concentration with singer & songwriter Vin Ryan
Today on our Hot Seat we have a an EDM artist Vin Ryan with us,Lets have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Vin Ryan : Greetings everyone! My name is Vin Ryana. I am a Los Angeles based Indonesian pop/edm singer-songwriter. Nice to meet you all!
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Vin Ryan : I have been learning music since I was three, piano precisely. Then, I started singing as I grew up and found my passion there. I joined professional choirs and decided to pursue my career as a singer. This year, I began to perform solo after releasing my two EPs, WHITE and BLUE.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recently released two debut EPs WHITE and BLUE ?
Vin Ryan : WHITE is a pop and acoustic based genre EP. I made this EP from a traditional approach – with mostly guitar, piano, bass and drums. On the other hand, BLUE is an electronic based EP. It has electronic pop, EDM, and experimental songs in it. Generally, most people are going to like one or the other. But, the topics of both EPs revolve around humanity. My vision is to spread humanity in the world through my music. These EPs capture my vision through different emotions. Due to the nature of the genre itself, WHITE is very forward thinking, helping you to move on from your stagnant condition to a better state. With electronic songs, BLUE is more self-reflective and makes you critically think of yourself in how you can approach life differently – in a more positive manner.
Twist Online : Any particular track(s) from these EPs that’s your favorite?
Vin Ryan : I think “Train of Thought” is my favorite from BLUE! And, “Wake Up Call” is my favorite from WHITE.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Vin Ryan : So far so good! I heard people say that “Wake Up Call” and “Arrow” are the catchiest songs that I have. They also say that most of my songs are uplifting! I’m happy with those responses. All I want to do is to make music that people enjoy listening as well as emotionally moving for them.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Vin Ryan : I actually love both. But, if I have to choose one, probably working in studios. I get to harness all my creativity the most while also get to perform when recording. Performing for studio recording takes as much effort as performing on stage. Both require hard work and vast amounts of rehearsals. But, I love the fact that when working in studios, I get to always push the limit out of my creativity to think outside the box. I am always satisfied with the results that I would not have expected before. This keeps me going as an artist and allows me to always constantly try to become a better musician.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Vin Ryan : Yes! I have many goals actually. But, my biggest goal right now is that I would love to work with some top producers that I have in mind. Hopefully, I can work with them for my next album, which is probably going to be released some time in the beginning of next year. Fingers crossed!
