A conversation with a passionate rapper ‘SillyKing Denny’

Today on our Hot Seat we have SillyKing Denny, a 20 years old rapper from Nashville TN

Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?

SillyKing Denny : Well I didn’t get serious about music until the end of 2016. I came to the realization that time wasn’t gonna wait for me, and even though I didn’t know where to start I knew that I needed to do something.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?

SillyKing Denny : I’ve always had a passion for music. I played the trumpet for three years in middle school, and I grew up listening to different genres( occasionally tried to write my own songs lol). When I was younger I actually wanted to be a graphic design artist because I loved to draw, but my mom’s fiancee at the time was a part time lyricist. I dunno… watching him just made me want to do it more and more.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “Anytime”?

SillyKing Denny : I feel like I talk about alot in this song, but the song is actually dedicated to one of my ex’s. It’s basically just me saying despite all the bullshit, there’s still a place in my heart
for this person. I’m also talk about people doubting me and my aspirations to be a rapper. I just started writing my what I felt down on paper and this single was the outcome. Hopefully that doesn’t sound to lame lol I’m just an emotional person, and I like to express that through my music.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?

SillyKing Denny : Honestly I really haven’t seen or heard anything negative about it…of course there are some people who don’t like it, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Alot of people I know have told me that they thoroughly enjoy the song, but I don’t make music just for other people. I make music because I like to express myself, and because it’s fun as. hell.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?

SillyKing Denny : Honestly I love being able to record ( I recorded anytime, and alot of my songs at home) because I just get to be alone and be creative. I’m not really a timid or introverted person, but I really enjoy being alone sometimes. I do like to perform, hop around on stage, get hype, but when I’m recording I don’t have to worry about anybody else

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?

SillyKing Denny : Obvi Rap/ hip hop. There are definitely a few pop artist that have my heart to though ( like a few rock/alternative bands I like too) I actually used to live with a band that I like called SQUEAKY BUDDA. You should check them out.

Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?

SillyKing Denny : This year I plan on learning how to produce my own music better, as well as drop alot more music. Also I’m gonna be more on my social media platforms to build a deeper relationship with my fans. The overall goal is to just do and not procrastinate cause i tend to be lazy and postpone shit. Lol
2018 is gonna be a good year..

Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?

SillyKing Denny : I’ve been working on alot of singles lately. Me and a good friend of mine (ToureTheGreat) just dropped a song together and plan to drop a joint project soon. As far as a personal project goes it’ll more than likely drop one in the later part of the year. I’m a young artist so I don’t have as much money as I’d like, but when my funds get right I’m gonna put my all into an EP. I’m leaning towards it’s being called #silly
