A Conversation with a Songwriter and Rapper J.Austin
Today we are bringing you our conversation with another talented musician J.Austin. Very active on spotify and cruising towards more success in music industry on the bases of his music skills and talent.
Twist Online : How did you enter into music industry? Tell us something about it.
J.Austin : I moved to New York last year and started recording. Then went to industry networking events and sometimes open mix just to meet people. Started doing open mix then moved on to showcases and so on.
Twist Online : You are a good song writer. How did you develop this skill?
J.Austin : Writing Raps but I always had a heavy love for R&B. So sometimes I would write poetry for a English class and then it became for girlfriends. So when I started writing R&B songs I realized punch lines aren’t important it’s more about the feel, So I would think of a line and try to make it as vague as possible.
Twist Online : Is there any inspiration behind you? Who inspires you in Music Industry?
J.Austin : My inspirations are Russell Simmons, Sean Combs, Lyor Cohen, Quincy Jones and Clive Davis
Twist Online : Do you set goals for yourself and how do you do that?
J.Austin : Yeah, I try to set them in increments nothing too crazy far ahead and I just like to set them also for things that better me as a person, because that’s most important.
Twist Online : Tell us about your songs ?
J.Austin : I like to try to make a song that relate to every group. Anthems for people and situations nobody’s thought of.
Twist Online : Why do you chose to become a rapper ?
J.Austin : The competition and the doors it will open for other things.
Twist Online : What is the motivation behind your work?
J.Austin : Just to make an impact on people, places, and groups.
Twist Online : When we will be able to see your next release ?
J.Austin : Poetry from Penn Station will come out around May it’s very soulful and a lot more personal and introspective than The Opener.
