A Conversation with an up and coming music artist LeLe XO
Today on our Hot Seat we have a talented artist LeLe XO with us. She has recently released her debut single “After Hours” of her up coming full project. Lets have a chat with her.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
LeLe XO : I am LeLe XO, a Detroit artist who focuses on perfecting an Alternative Pop/R&B genre, while experimenting with mixing in other genres.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
LeLe XO : Growing up I always knew singing was my passion, but it wasn’t until I moved out to LA for about a year to work with a producer that I knew I wanted it to be a profession. I originally only went out there for a weekend for a talent convention and I ended up staying.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “After Hours”?
LeLe XO : “After Hours” is the debut single off of my first full project, release date and title to be announced, and it blends my Alternative Pop /R&B sound into mood music for the vibe after a night of living it up. “After Hours” came out on June 23 and I took a different approach on it — most of my older music was more upbeat and over the top “pop-ish”, but I just went with the mood type of style on this one and we actually created it on the spot in about 20-30 minutes. It’s a chill, feel good song…at the same time having an underlying party theme.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
LeLe XO : I was slightly nervous only because my fans are used to a different sound from me – but the reaction was very heart-warming and I couldn’t be happier with them accepting me growing as an artist and being open minded to my diversity.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
LeLe XO : I’ve always considered myself more of a performer. My daily life consists of doing dramatic things and making my friends laugh. I’d say that’s what I’m known for to anyone that knows me personally. You can be anyone you want to be, but I feel as if I’m being my true self on stage.
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
LeLe XO : That’s a super hard question because I’ve always had a wide range on music interests. It varies from Pop to Hip Hop to Rock n’ Roll to jazz….you name it, I love it all. I bounce back and forth to what I listen to every now and then…right now I’m super into R&B/Hip Hop party music.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
LeLe XO : My goals are definitely to make this a lifelong career and make a livingdoing what I love. I really just want to travel and perform for people that enjoy what I do and then meet them all after!
Twist Online : Are you working on any new projects?
LeLe XO : Yes! I’m in the midst of finishing my first full project which should be out by early next year, so stay tuned for that announcement!
