Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
1992 : Im a hip hop artist and i go by “1992”. Its the year i was born. Lived in the bronx, New york until 2001. seen alot of things go down in the bronx. from gang related to drug abuse,
as well as the good things that come along with the bad. i moved around alot from state to state when i was younger. i met alot of people with different stories and
backgrounds. alot of my music is inspired by people who go through things weather good or bad, i tell their stories. but i also keep modern with swavy trap beats,
to meloncholic instrumentals, and party bangers for people who just want to get up and not worry bout life even if its for 3 minutes.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into the music industry?
1992 : ive met alot of people and only a few stood by my side, my boys started making music before me. I always liked that they were doing they thing.
but i didnt start making music untill 18, my boys along with my love for hiphop music made me want to start to make music. Big pun, nas, biggie, tupac, xxxtentacion,
the weeknd, drake, jcole, kendrick lamar, tom odell, aqualung, SYNL, Jford, and many other artist inspire me on a day to day basis to keep making music. along with
then people that i meet.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent EP ‘1992’?
1992 : This EP is all about what ive seen growing up, and emotions ive felt over the years since coming into this world in 1992. it talks about social injustice,
suicides, cops killing kids, drugs, gang violence, and everything i grew up around.
Twist Online : Any particular track from the EP that’s your favorite?
1992 : my favorite track on the EP, is called “Memoirs of Pain”. Its a story about a women i met who was a prostitute when i was a bartender in harlem new york.
prostitutes would go in and try to get there pay with some one fromthe bar. The girl started to talk to me about her life. she had her first kid when she was 12,
and that from there on she had 6 more. she doesnt get to be with any of them because of the way she was. its a very deep story, its probably the best story telling
song ive ever written. alot of pain int that one.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
1992 : ive been on a couple blogs that have reviewed my ep. links here
