A conversation with “Martone” about his release #TEOM
We recently had conversation with pop star “Martone”. Our main focus was on his recent release #TEOM | The Evolution of Martone Deluxe Edition.
That’s our conversation with him.
Twist Online : First Tell us a little about the starting of your music career.
Martone : I began my career in music when I was a preteen. I hosted a music video show by the name of Video Control. It was a program that allowed me to interview music stars about their careers. I hosted Video Control for a decade plus. From there I went onto hosting a radio show called Industry Revue In the Mix that opportunity turned into an online radio station called IRMIX Radio which I owned a operated. In 2014, I began exposing my private passion which is singing and songwriting, and I recorded my first track called This Love.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release #TEOM | The Evolution of Martone Deluxe Edition?
Martone : #TEOM is the last installment of The Evolution of Martone albums. It’s a dance album that speaks about love, going to the club and getting your groove on. In addition to living out your dreams and making things happen for yourself.
Twist Online : Your album recently became a featured Staff Pick on CDBaby.com. How are you feeling about it?
Martone : I feel great about the feature. It just confirmed what I had been feeling about the project all along. That #TEOM is a good album that should be heard. I say this all the time, not because I am on it – mind you,
because I know good music and my experience in the field speaks for itself.
Twist Online : Any particular reason behind going for 17 songs in the album? That’s far more than what we normally have in an album?
Martone : Really? I don’t think so. Unbreakable by Janet had 17 songs. #TEOM is actually a Deluxe Version of the Evolution of Martone. There are about seven actual songs with two interludes and the rest are remixes from producers and DJs that contain previously unreleased material.
Twist Online : How is the response of your fans. How much they are liking TEOM?
Martone : I am getting awesome reviews from fans, DJs and critics alike. In fact, DJs from all over the world are beginning to play tracks from the album that are not even officially released. I am just really happy that everyone is enjoying it the way that I do.
Twist Online : Are you inspired by someone in music industry?
Martone : I have mentioned in many interviews that Janet Jackson is an artist that inspires me. Not only is she an inspiration to young women that are singer songwriters she is an inspiration to men as well. She is the consummate entertainer there is no other that can hold a candle to her skill of choreography and stage presence, often imitated but never duplicated.
Twist Online : What is the biggest achievement in your career so far?
Martone : Well, recently I was accepted into the recording academy (Grammys) Its really been an honor to be around individuals that understand and appreciate your craft. Many offer their experience as advice and I cannot say thank them enough. I have been nominated for entertainer of the year award from an LGBT organization in Dallas. But all in all, my biggest achievement is having people love my music the way that I do.
Twist Online : Why you gone for pop as your music genre? any particular reason?
Martone : Essentially, my music is dance with R&B and Pop roots. Bottom line, I do what’s in my heart.
Twist Online : Are you on Social Media? Your fans would love to follow you.
