A conversation with multi-talented Dre Hilton
Dre Hilton is a singer, songwriter, and music producer that devotes all 3 talents into making music for children. In the Summer of 2014 he released his 1st single titled “Yes I Can Can”. The song delivers a powerful message telling kids that they can do anything and be anyone they want to be. The song and musical video went viral around the world. Recently Dre will released his sophomore Children’s Music Album titled “Good Boys & Good Girls”. We are sharing our recent interview with him.
Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
Dre Hilton : My professional career started in 2013 when I joined a Motown tribute show called The Soul of Motown. That’s where I really developed as a Entertainer. The show is based out of Pigeon Forge Tennessee and I am still currently performing in the show.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Dre Hilton : As a child I knew I wanted to be a Entertainer when I saw videos of the greats such as Michael Jackson and James Brown. I became a Young musician at the age of 5. I started on drums then at age 11 started on piano. Then when I was 13 I really started to get into songwriting. And I knew I wanted to use all of my talents to write great music such as Stevie Wonder which is someone that I started to study as I got a little older.
Twist Online : Any particular reason for making music only for children?
Dre Hilton : I write children’s music because it simply feels good to my soul. When I performing my songs in front of a audience full of kids, it’s amazing to see that little eyes light up and then Little voices singing along. I feel like our children are overlooked and they need to be empowered and motivated to do well. I have chosen to dedicate my life to the children.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent Album “Good Boys & Good Girls”?
Dre Hilton : Good boys and good girls is a project that I just released. The whole purpose of me recording the project is to Simply celebrate the kids. There are so many kids that are working hard, doing the right thing and I wanted to make something to reward them. And also to motivate and empower kids that are not behaving to do better. This CD really talks about good character and dreaming big
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received so far?
Dre Hilton : The response has been very great. This is my second children’s album and CD sales are going really really great. I have gained more fans since I first started and they are definitely showing me support.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Dre Hilton : I definitely like performing on stage versus being in the studio. The reason is because I get to express and sort of act out the emotions of the song to the people. People know me for my high energy and the stage is definitely a place for that.
Twist Online : You are also touring different schools and organizations for awareness in children. Our readers would like to know more about that?
Dre Hilton : Yes, this is my second tour. I travel to schools and other youth organizations with a fun filled educational show. The show is very Interactive with the kids and very very high energy. Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
Dre Hilton : Yes my ultimate goal is to do a movie for kids and to also write a children’s book. I’d like to revolutionize children’s music. That’s a big goal but I believe that all things are possible.
