A conversation with music artist Young Budd
Today on our Hot Seat we have a talented artist ‘Young Budd’ with us. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
Young Budd : If we talk about the start then when have to speak on where I’m from. It started in a small town bout 25-30min outside NYC spring valley NY. I use to play rap with my uncles coming up as a kid. I remember my uncle Below Wrote a lil verse for me and my cousin Tia. “My name b-nice, yea you know me got all the fly girls chasing after me… lol” Still know it all till this day! But my uncle Markey (may he rip) he thought me the power of music. He liked all kinds of music: r&b, hip hop, hardcore rap, country music, poetry just art. He didn’t really know it but I payed a lot of attention to that. At an early age I was listening to music for the words of how people feel and how powerful music can be. Fast forward 2018 I’m now an independent BMI artist & business owner. “Ain’t funny how ya world change!”
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Young Budd : You wanna know what inspired me. People not believe in them selves. I’ve always felt like, if you believe in something or want to achieve something great and live a life that’s free of bull shit, then you can anything is possible. That’s my message to people all the people. I make sure I represent that to! That’s what Cultivation is all about, inspiring and motivating one another at the end of the day.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Young Budd : The response has been pretty good. The people have been real receptive to my music and I truly appreciate it.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Young Budd : I’d have to say performing. Yea definitely performing. It’s just certain type of energy I get from a live performance, bringing the art to life! Hard to explain this feeling but true artist understand. Something you just gotta see I guess.
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Young Budd : That’s a hard question, I’d have say hip hop, r&b. Can’t front tho, it’s hard to have a favorite but if you’re making me choose then yea hip hop and r&b. I’m from New York raised on Hot97 the home of hip hop and r&b! it’s only right.
Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
Young Budd : Yes. Excellence at it’s highest level! Setting targets and putting goals in place as an artist is key. It’s funny sometimes, I remember talking people back home about living in Florida and running my companies from here once I got off probation. I swear I didn’t know how but I knew it was in my foreseeable future, I felt it. I could almost see it in a sense So I pushed it into existence, now I’m here! That’s the same way I feel about my music and the art time and energy I put into it. I’m just trusting my process, I’ve evolved from the young boy on the block. My beliefs my work ethic and mind set is much greater and I’m most proud of myself for allowing space and distance in my life from the people, places and things I’ve grown so accustom to over the years.
Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?
Young Budd : Yes. The project is “Art With No Easel”. It’ll be my first original studio album recorded in south FL, I’m definitely looking forward to it this year. I will not release the date just yet but I can, it’s worth the wait!
