
A Conversation With Rapper Jae Druitt
‘Work Hard Live Well’ is the motto used by young Mount Druitt rapper Jae Druitt. Born in 1988 to a Scottish mother and Australian father things weren’t easy for this young man and he had a tough early life.
In the year 2000 Jae decided to start rapping. Loose cannons was his first rap name but he had to change this name due to a rapper with the same name. In the year 2003 with a name change Jae got fully focused on his rap career. In 2006 Jae had one of the worst experiences in his life as on October 22nd he lost 4 of his best friends in a car accident’ After the accident Jae wrote a song for them called ‘The Good Die Young’ with his brother Kron Priest.
Currently is giving his full attentions to rapping making it a full time job. And looking back at his hard work and his dedication and sheer talent we can say Jae Druitt is someone to watch this year and beyond.
We are sharing our recent interview with him.
Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
Jae Druitt : Coming up there wasn’t many rappers so I was looked at as a bit of a joke but once people heard the music they were impressed to the point they wanted me to asap every second of the day.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Jae Druitt : Life experiences and artists such as Eminem, Snoop Dogg & DMX
Twist Online : What kind of effect the accidental death of your best friend had on your music?
Jae Druitt : It made me realise life is short and made me go harder with my music not just for myself but for them
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release?
Jae Druitt : Its just a mini-tape and it done very well with over 1300 people having it either through download or hard copies so I was very happy with it. It was just 4 songs that didn’t make the street album but were too good not too release.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from fans and music critics so far?
Jae Druitt : Mostly positive, I get a lot of people telling me they relate to my music and that’s one of the main reasons I do it.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Jae Druitt : Both, the process of writing music is amazing but being able to perform it and see peoples reactions too it is also amazing
Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
Jae Druitt : I just wanna live comfortable from it and put my whole family on. Hopefully i can make an impact and help others through my music also.
Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?
Jae Druitt : I got a new mini-tape dropping very soon and hopefully a street album early next year.
