A conversation with recording artist Chris Major

Today on our Hot Seat we have a rapper, songwriter and producer Christopher B. Macias who is better known by his stage name Chris Major. Lets have a chat with him.

Twist Online : First of all tell our reader a little about yourself .
Chris Major : Hey guys, my name is Chris Major and I am an Ecuadorian American recording artist out of New Jersey.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Chris Major : Music was just something I fell in love with a very young age. My mother still tells me stories about how I was 3-4 yrs old always singing and dancing at family parties. I just loved performing and entertaining.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “My Last” ?
Chris Major : “My Last” is the first single off my upcoming Ep “Major Forever” and it’s very memorable for me because it was the learning process for me & the rest of my team. It was the first record we professionally recorded, mixed, mastered & properly released to the world. This record helped me show the world MY vision of who “Chris Major” was, is & who he is meant to become.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Chris Major : The response has been amazing. I’ve had fans, Dj’s, bloggers, even famous artist and celebrities that I personally admire, come up to me and tell me that “My Last” will easily be a top billboard 100. There’s really no words to describe the feeling of hearing someone singing your song for the first time and telling you it’s there favorite song! I am truly blessed.

Twist Online : Do you need some specific kind of environment for writing a song?
Chris Major : I’ve made some of my greatest hits in a million dollar studio in the heart on Time square NYC & I’ve made classic records in my mothers basement. I approach every song different. Sometimes a record will come to me and I’ll have it done in 20 mins, other times I’ll spend hours on a song. Making music is an art and as an artist you try your best to put yourself in different creative spaces to excel to the best of your ability.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Chris Major : Well that’s like Adkin me to choose between Jlo & Halle (laughs). It’s an impossible decision for me to make because I love them both for different reasons. The love and energy I get from the crowd is the love and energy I use to create my music so it all works together.

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Chris Major : I love the old school classic salsa. It takes me back to some of the best memories. Spanish cookouts and family parties but overall I’m inspired by all music.

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve as music artist?
Chris Major : Absolutely, as of lately I’ve been checking off my bucket list. For example I’ve always dreamed of being on stage at the world famous Madison square garden, and my good friends Aboogie & Pnbrock made that real for me by allowing me to take the stage alongside them at Drakes “Summer 16 tour.” There’s still so much for me to do but some of be biggest goals include winning a Grammy, performing on the summer jam stage and having a billboard #1 single.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Chris Major : I’m always working on something new for my fans to enjoy but at the moment I’m focused on my upcoming EP “Major Forever” and I don’t plan to disappoint. It’s a #MajorTakeOver.
