A conversation with singer-songwriter Emilia Hart
We are sharing our recent interview with singer & songwriter Emilia Hart.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Emilia Hart : I’m Emilia Hart, I’m a singer-songwriter from London and I’ve been writing since i was about 10years old. Family, loyalty, honesty and good morals are very important to me, so in that respect im quite old-fashioned.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Emilia Hart : I was always musical as a child, my family are all naturally quite talented in the arts in one way or another. It was more of just what i loved to do from the get go that inspired me to get into it, also my two uncles (close to my age) where very supportive as my biggest fans from day one. I’ve never wanted to do anything else.
Twist Online : Tell us about your debut release “stronger”?
Emilia Hart : As a teenager i was pretty closed of, didn’t want to get hurt or were my heart on my sleeve, but I met someone that really “softened me”. Habit told me to keep that wall up for a while. That’s what the pre chorus is about ” You make me strong you make me weak, I can stand on my own two feet, but i’m under your control”.
I worked really hard on this song, I wanted to get the message right. Its a big achievement for me.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Emilia Hart : I’ve received a positive response from it, from all ages really. Positive comments on my voice and the track all together which is just a great feeling.
Twist Online : Do you need some specific kind of environment for writing a song?
Emilia Hart : Not really. If im sitting down specifically to write i like to light a candle and be comfy, but i can also write in a pub or a studio. I love songwriting with other people, getting to see their techniques or the little things they may do differently to me. I feel like its an intimate thing – you see
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music artist?
Emilia Hart : Being able to express myself and connect with people through the song. A song can be subjective so people will take different things away from it depending on their life experience. Being able to bring back memories/feelings from a song is emotional and amazing.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Emilia Hart : Yes absolutely, I plan to release a song every 2/3 months. I want to do multiple new collaborations this year, im about to start a new one with an incredible producer/artist and i’m really excited, I have more in the pipeline. I would also like to do music video.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Emilia Hart : I am working on a new song, currently in the writing/music production stage at the moment.
