A conversation with UK based songwriter Oliver Laughton

UK Based songwriter Oliver Laughton has performed alongside the late, great Amy Winehouse, and the likes of Ed Sheeran among others. Oliver Laughton’ songs have been described as direct, catchy and appealing with hook-laden choruses that inhabit your head for days! His single “silver shoe’ has got extremely good response. We recently got an opportunity to have an interview with him.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Oliver Laughton: My father, as he was in a band in the 60’s. However, what really made want to get into the industry was watching Nirvana live!

Twist Online : one of your most popular songs “Silver Shoe” proved to be a hit. You must be very excited with the kind of response it has received?
Oliver Laughton : Yes, it popularity has astounded me, although I knew it was catchy as Amy (Winehouse) once said that she thought it was very catchy.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent releases?
Oliver Laughton: It’s top secret [:slightly_smiling_face:] All I can say is…I’m trying out new styles in my forthcoming songs, inspired by the likes of Bowie, Drake, Bob Marley, Tupac and Biggy.

Twist Online : You have performed alongside many renowned artists. Are there any artists you would loved to perform with ?
Oliver Laughton: Yes. Adele.

Twist Online : What do you enjoy more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Oliver Laughton: As Robbie Williams says ‘its all about the live show’!

Twist Online : You have performed at so many venues. What’s your most memorable performance so far?
Oliver Laughton: Burning Man

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve as a music artist?
Oliver Laughton: Now I’m a Father my priorities have changed.
