An exclusive interview with music artist L.A.rry L.A.vell

Today on our Hot Seat we have a talented and inspiring artist L.A.rry L.A.vell with us.

Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
L.A.rry L.A.vell : When i moved to Chino Hills, CA in 2007. I had already been dibble dabbling in music in the City Of Champions (Inglewood, CA) paying for studio time. making beats and writing music. My next door neighbor in Chino Hills was moving back to his home state, and had studio equipment for sale. I had $250 saved up from my bag boy job at Vons. I bought my first mbox, microphone, a registered copy of protools and a beat machine. From then on, i begin making music for myself, picking up major and independent credits along the way.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
L.A.rry L.A.vell : to keep it 1 million, when i saw “lil” Bow Wow & “lil” Romeo, whom were around my age and performing, i figured i can live out my dream too! I was inspired to be a performer first, but my path led me to wanting to be one of the greatest producers/beatmakers of all time. My main producer influences are Ice Cube, Rodney Jerkins & Lex Luger

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “Double What We Spend” ?
L.A.rry L.A.vell: Double What We Spend, which released on April 10th, 2018, is a motivational classic record, produced, mixed and mastered by myself, created to inspire those who are working hard to save in order to better their lives and their families. I am going through the same thing as we speak. Saving is not easy, especially in Los Angeles, CA where a roof over your head is becoming hard to come by. The beat is smooth but euphoric, a zippy 808 with my vocals as an accent telling my story. I know you guys are feeling it, its nothing but uplifting positivity!

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
L.A.rry L.A.vell: I have received great feedback on the single, achieving 3000+ plays in its first two weeks on spotify alone. Fan screenshots are falling in too!

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
L.A.rry L.A.vell : Being in the studio mayne, that atmosphere where you feel the music cutting through your soul as you perfect it for the world. There is nothing like it. You can have a club in a studio too, but you cant have no club in the studio, there is no place like it.

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
L.A.rry L.A.vell: My favorite genre is TRAP. Im from the westcoast, but my musical era is trap music. I got it from the producers more than the artists, Lil Lodi, Lex Luger, Southside, DJ Spinz, TM88, the list goes on.

Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
L.A.rry L.A.vell: My target is feed my family and rebuild the streets. As Nas said on “Nas Album Done” w/ DJ Khaled: “we get government aid, spend it at they stores, putting they kids through college, we need balance, so we can lease and own deeds in our projects. So im asking Gs to go in they pockets, the racial economic inequality lets try to solve it.” Clear definition of my goals.

Question : Are you currently working on any other project?
L.A.rry L.A.vell: Yes, i am working on 2 untitled EPs at the moment, coming soon. ALso i am working to bring visuals from my first album, all the way up to the current music. Be on the look out!

Question : What’s the best way to follow you?
L.A.rry L.A.vell : best way to get to me is —> all my music and social media is here.
