An exclusive interview with music duo KINGZMN

We are sharing our recent interview with music duo KINGZMN.

Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
KINGZMN : We are Zanna & Thien . We are a Canadian duo named KINGZMN

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to launch ‘KINGZMN’?
KINGZMN : Both of us had a boyhood dream of making music and being able to play it all over the world. Tiesto was the first artist that really inspired us to chase this dream. We both had the same goal to inspire the world with our music, so we came together and created “KINGZMN” – we both really love the Kingsmen movies

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent releases?
KINGZMN : We just released a brand new EP called “Loverboy”. We’ve been working on this EP for almost a year now. It’s is very personal to us because every song was written by Thien expressing both our struggles in life, dealing with love and heartbreak. We think what we are going through, everyone does and it’s super relatable to us all. The biggest track on the EP is called “Downtown Luv” which we also shot a music video for.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
KINGZMN : We’ve received a lot of good feedback from people. A lot of our friends messaged us the day it released and were telling us how connected they felt with our music. Hearing our music on a radio station in a city we’ve never been to was a really inspiring feeling.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
KINGZMN : Thien: I’ve always enjoyed making music. I was a producer before anything else. Creating music is something that I’ve always been attracted to doing. I would choose the studio over performing. But both are two incredible feelings.
Zanna: I’ve been Djing for many years. I’ve always loved performing for a crowd and being able to work them. When we are in the studio together making music, its definitely an amazing feeling coming up with something fresh but for me preforming attracts me more, I’ve always loved the butterflies I get when I go on stage. Performing gives me some type of natural high, I just love it. Its really hard to explain.

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
KINGZMN : As artists we appreciate all kinds of music. Music that has feeling is something that really gets us. We try and diversify what we listen too. Music is something that should speak to you or inspire you in some way. It’s a universal language to all. Lately we’ve definitely been inspired by hip hop music, so we’ve definitely tried to incorporate some hip hop elements into our releases.

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
KINGZMN : To make a difference in people’s lives with our music. Connecting with fans through our music is one of our biggest goals. We’re always striving to become better and create with other artists. We are currently working with our mentor Deorro. A goal of ours is to finish a collaboration with him.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
KINGZMN : We’re always working on new music and new ideas. We never stop creating. We are currently working with our very talented friend Vivaswan on a track we wrote together called “Breaking Free” It’s a very personal track to the 3 of us because it focuses on a lot of sensitive topics that people deal with in life. Racism, mental health, and discrimination is something that is a big unfortunate problem in today’s society. We’ve all been targeted by it so together we came together and wrote something meaningful. The song is about just breaking free and being yourself. Don’t be afraid of who you are, live life and be happy.

Twist Online : Are you active on social media? What’s the best way to follow you online?
KINGZMN : We always try and be super active on social media. Our most active page right now is our Instagram. We’re always posting new updates and stories of our everyday lives. However we do use all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc). And you can also find out our music on Spotify
