An Exclusive Interview with Rapper Yikes

We are sharing our recent interview with Nickolas Cutright, also known by his stage/rapper name Yikes. He has recently released a mixtape ” family matters” so main focus of our conversation will be on it.

Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
Yikes : I really started taking music serious when I was 13. My uncle John was security for Rap-a-alot records so with that being said I got to meet a lot of upcoming artist. From there on I just knew this was my lane.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Yikes : Sean P inspired me to take my music to the next level. He was the best ky ever had.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recently released Mixed Tape ” family matters”?
Yikes : Family Matters is a mixtape that I put my all in. See we’re i from in ky there’s more hate then love. It’s like no one wants to see nobody succeed. So at the end of the day the only people I had to push me was family. Family ain’t just blood, family matters. So everybody on the mixtape is some I call family from the tracks to the art work to the videos.

Twist Online : Any particular track(s) of the mix tape that’s your favorite?
Yikes : Dear mozzy is my favorite track on the cd. I mean everything is fire on there but that one track was made for mozzy to hear. He’s an artist that I would love to do a ft. with.

Twist Online : Some of your music videos has done pretty well recently. Tell us more about that?
Yikes : I gotta say “What about me” is one of the videos that is doing numbers on YouTube right now. It’s a song asking the world what about me. I felt like there was a point in my life we’re all I had was me l. Movie is a great video to watch to, it’s a video that shows the city.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Yikes : I gotta say performing, getting that crowd moving is what attracts me to music. My dream is to have the whole world screaming yikes an I won’t stop til they do.

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Yikes : My favorite genre music personally is RnB. Reason that is………well I am a 90s baby’s so most of that rnb that was played then was real music. Music with a real meaning.

Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
Yikes : Some of my main targets as artist in ky is to get my ky artist herd. We got some amazing talent in ky like Staxs, Sleezy, lil gwalla, Spazz, Flynt, mic change, scudda, and jno. So that’s the first target. My 2nd target is to bring bars back to rap game because the game needs its.

Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?
Yikes : Yes, my other projects lol not project will be out very soon. Hotter then Hell will be out may 15th from one of my main artist Sleezy also we have Floyd vs spazz coming out soon an a lot more from the G.K labels. Like my Guy said I we won’t stop until we at the BET awards.
