An exclusive interview with record producer 303 OG

Today on our Hot Seat we have recording producer 303 OG. Let’s have a chat with him.

Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers?
303 OG : I’m 303 OG from Dublin, Ireland and I’m a record producer.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
303 OG : That’s a good question,…Music itself inspires me. It always has and always will. Thinking back I remember my father playing stuff like The Prodigy when I was a kid and I used to marvel at the music itself.
I used to ask myself how they created their music. How was it even possible to create such a sound. I think that created a hunger for me to search for answers but it wasn’t until I pirated a DAW as a young
teenager that it all began to click. Obviously Liam Howlett used hardware in the nineties but it’s all still very similar.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release?
303 OG : My recent release is a full length trap / hip hop beat tape titled Concealed Truth and it consists of sixteen tracks. It’s a pretty solid body of work ranging from laid back, more wavey beats to straight heavy hitting heaters. At least that’s how I would describe it at face value but the reality is it goes a lot deeper than that.

Twist Online : What kind of response have you received from the release?
303 OG : The response has definitely been positive. It has been featured on numerous blogs and websites which in turn is generating a lot of activity around the release. Essentially I produce music for myself and the fact that it resonates with other people, that they are in a sense connecting directly with my emotions, my ideas, my thoughts, I think is truly incredible.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
303 OG : Working in studios, definitely. I think that’s where my creativity shines and is where I express myself musically. Nothing compares to the feeling you get when you know you’re producing something next level. As a producer I’m constantly progressing and levelling up with each new piece of music so you could imagine being gassed up every time haha.

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
303 OG : I wouldn’t say I have a favorite genre. If I feel it, I feel it. I don’t really buy into the whole, everything in a box and on a shelf way of things.

Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
303 OG : My target is to be successful. I often have thoughts and extremely vivid images of being a globally successful record producer and so that’s the target I aim to achieve.

Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?
303 OG : Always. I’m constantly working on new material. I recently remixed a track from Rebel Phoenix’s album D.M.T.N.T or Dead Men Tell No Tales as it’s also known titled Been Around and I’m eager to see the reaction it’s going to get and the impact it’s going to have. It’s serious heat.

Twist Online : Are you active on social media? What’s the best way to follow you online?
303 OG : Yeah, Soundcloud is the best to follow for new material and I post anything else relating to my music on Twitter.
