An Exclusive Interview with Singer & Songwriter “Ser Franklin”

Today on Hot Seat we have a talented singer and inspiring songwriter Ser Franklin. Lets have a chat with him.

Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Ser Franklin : My name is Ser Franklin, born in Brazil, grew up in Italy and now live in London, UK.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Ser Franklin : Singers like Aretha Frankin, Stevie Wonder, Billie Holiday or Nina Simone, as well as many others….I’m an old school soul for the most part.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recently released first studio Album “Lonely Soul”?
Ser Franklin : I started writing songs after the death of my parents, it was terapeutic for me…i am also openly gay, and let’s say that my gay love life has been a disaster so far haha, and that aspect of my life “helped” me writing all those “love-gone-wrong” kind of songs too.

Twist Online : Although all the songs are good but any particular track(s) of the Album you would specially recommend our reader to listen?
Ser Franklin : Probably “Live again” is the one that I feel closer to me because it was the first one I wrote, that’s where it all begun…but also the title song “Lonely soul”, I’ve always been a solitaire kind of person and a dreamer, and the song represents me pretty well

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Ser Franklin : A really positive response….it is a very diverse album, that touches a lot of genres, because i love a lot of different styles of music…at first i thought it was a risky move to delve into too many sounds, but i had to follow my instinct and go with what i felt like doing…the album is 100% me.

Twist Online : What’s the best way to buy/download the album?
Ser Franklin : The album is basically in all online music download and streaming stores, itunes, spotify, bandcamp, deezer, you name it….all of them

Twist Online : What kind of songs you love to write? Do you need some specific environment for writing lyrics?
Ser Franklin : For this one it was mostly about relationships, because that was what i was going through at the moment….i definitely need to be in a quite environment to write anything, by myself, possibly with a glass of wine close by haha

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Ser Franklin : I love the creative process of the studio a lot more, and also because i am kind of a shy type of person, I’ve always been a little insecure about myself, and that doesn’t mix too well with the live stage….hopefully I’ll get more relaxed with time

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Ser Franklin : Other than reaching for the moon hehe, just to have my music and lyrics heard by as much people as i can, music is what i love the most in life.

Twist Online : What’s the best way to follow you online?
Ser Franklin : I’m still getting used to this social media thing….I’m doing better with Instagram, still haven’t keep up with Facebook and twitter, but I’m Ser Franklin on all three of them.
