An Interview with music artist Tizzy TEACH
We are sharing our recent interview with Brandon Lomax also known as Tizzy TEACH .
Twist Online : It seems your father would have inspired you to get into music industry or is there anyone else as well?
Tizzy TEACH : Id say so ya. I was always around music growing up. Even as a baby I’ve been told stories I’d go to the studio with my dad and just listen. He said anytime he’d take me I was always quiet. Like I was listening or something. Lol. But I’ve got a huge selection of influence from my dad to rock bands like Nirvana, Incubus, Chevelle, ranging from alternative rock to hip hop such as like Mac Miller Drake J Cole and more. It’s more so about how the music someone makes, makes me feel.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “My Way”?
Tizzy TEACH :
This song “My Way” comes from a place where I was going through a really bad break up from a toxic relationship. The song starts off with the break up insinuating was “My Way” but as the song progresses you can hear me going from a hurt place and reflecting on it. Transforming that into getting over it and figuring out that I’m going to be ok. Because sometimes you need to hear that. Especially when you feel so alone. But ultimately the song ends in a fashion of everything being alright and how this all spun into me actually getting “My Way” and that to me means happiness. That and I kept the dog.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Tizzy TEACH : The type of response I’ve been getting from this track has been insane ! This is my fastest growing song and I feel like it’s because people can relate. People can feel when your genuine with your music they feel that. And for anyone that’s had anything negative to say about it I can simply respond that it came from a sincere place. But I feel people recognize that because of the love I’ve been receiving from this record.
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Tizzy TEACH : I really don’t have a favorite I guess. Maybe I do because my go-to’s are rock and hip hop. But it really just depends on the mood and how I’m feeling that day.
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music artist?
Tizzy TEACH : The best part about being a music artists I’d have to say is the release I get from creating. I’ve seen a lot of people who slip into depression or worse and I feel like with my gifts I’ve been given in life I’m able to take my emotion, how I feel create a song and be able to let go of feelings or situations. I feel like when people don’t have a hobby or something they can go to that gives them too much time to be in their thoughts. I’m guilty as well. But I’m best when I’m busy I always say.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Tizzy TEACH : Oh I have plenty goals ! Ranging from not only the music but the skateboarding that I do as well. From the music it’s to continue pushing this track then pushing my next single and as I’m doing that keep doing skate events or performances and just keep growing from there.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Tizzy TEACH :
I am working on a new project. I wouldn’t label it a project just yet because I just like to focus on creating the music first. I create all the music I can and then depending on how all the music sounds and choosing the right songs to create a project is where I find that vibe. So I try not to stress so much about a project. But more so just getting more music and content created for the listener.
