
An interview with musician Momin Deen
Momin Deen is one of the most friendliest musician on the planet. Born in Malaysia but spent the rest of his adulthood in Perth, Western Australia. He plays folk music, pop, and rock and roll in some occasion.
He is currently finishing his album and prepping for his European tour this winter.
Twist Online : Our readers would like to know about start of your professional career.
Momin Deen : Well when you say professional, I have to look at myself again, I can’t I believe I’m an entrepreneur, I’m sorry I couldn’t stop laughing. My professional career revolves around hobbies that I took seriously, like football, arts, and of course what I consider my best is music.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Momin Deen : My brother gave me his guitar, and at such a young age I have to make something out of it suppose, and listening to Elvis was a really big help for my presence and voice.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent Album?
Momin Deen : Well I would say it’s a tough road, I guess I am in that position of being stuck with brilliant ideas surrounded by poor execution, a lot has to be done to make sure every single track is breaded with feel. It is not easy balancing good sounds with proper structure.
Twist Online : You are planning a tour for the album promotion. what kind of response you are expecting from your fans?
Momin Deen : I don’t know my fans if I’m honest, everyday I write for myself and going to every single person is already challenging prospect. Every single individual is different, I have developed an understanding that I cannot please everyone with my weird sounds! but someone out there might like? I expect my fans if they exists to support my album and others in particular.
Twist Online : Any particular track of the Album that’s your favorite?
Momin Deen : I like my new track, Sounds of Kites, I listen to it everyday just make sure that there are no gaps missing before I proceed with another one.
Twist Online : What attracts you more performing on stage or working in studios?
Momin Deen : Honestly I love both and it is part of being a musician, you have be comfortable with both. Being in the studio is great but you need to show people that you are alive, so how I did live is important to show to the crowd of what I did in studio, so I try to be a copy my album but not too obvious I suppose.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve as a music artist?
Momin Deen : Yes, I want to be there (live) as much as I can, but I have finish what I started which was my album, I’m like headless chicken at the moment, really here and there. This interview really gives me a wakeup call!
