An interview with rapper Lightning Logan
Today on our Hot Seat we have a talented music artist and songwriter Lightning Logan. Let have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Lightning Logan : What’s up my name is Lightning Logan and I;’m an artist from Las Vegas, NV
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Lightning Logan : I’ve always had a passion for music and writing lyrics and around middle school, one of the older neighborhood kids I looked up to, Dizzy D Flashy, you know him as Dizzy Wright, started getting some buzz in the rap game so I thought I’d try it out just like him.
Twist Online : You have been suffering from mental illness. How much influence it has in your music ?
Lightning Logan : It’s had a real big impact on my music forsure. I had to take a minute from creating music for a while last year because of a lot of stuff I was dealing with mentally with depression and anxiety but something that helps me get through the suffering is writing lyrics. I pour my emotions into my lyrics sometimes.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recently released track “Sad & Depressed” ?
Lightning Logan : Sad & Depressed is a track from my latest EP “Mask Of Woe”. It’s really just about coming out about my mental illness and allowing the listener to try to understand what it’s like to be “sad and depressed”. It was a very emotional song to write and record in the studio.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Lightning Logan : So far everything’s been positive. Since releasing my music a lot of people have came forth to me and opened up about their own mental illnesses so I thought that was awesome. I want people to know they are not alone and we are all fighting this together.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Lightning Logan : I love working in the studio with my producer but there is nothing like being on the stage. The vibrations and energy I receive from audiences is amazing and it gives me the biggest rush. I want to get on a stage again soon!
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Lightning Logan : I feel like I have to say rap because I’m technically a rapper but I really do love all genres. My favorite artist is Johnny Cash.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve as music artist?
Lightning Logan : Right now I’m for sure aiming for the stars. I started not too long ago but I have built some great connections so far and am hoping to have a great rest of the year working on new music and some videos.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Lightning Logan : I’m currently working on a new project titled “Logan Five” which will hopefully be out by August of this year. It still needs some polishing but it is coming along nicely. I’m also currently shooting a short film titled “Mask Of Woe” which is influenced off the stories from my EP of the same name.
