Brice Sedgwick talks about his debut project Pacifico

Multi-talented artist Brice Sedgwick has recently released his debut project titled Pacifico. We interviewed him about his project, music career and other stuff our readers will interest our readers.

Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Brice Sedgwick : Hello! I’m Brice Sedgwick, a singer/songwriter originally from Australia who has been in London for the past 7 years, telling stories through music.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Brice Sedgwick : I always wanted to tell stories; my own, or other’s stories. I wanted to interpret conversations, and feelings, and translate them into songs. I love taking music and adding it to the soundtrack of my own life, and i wanted to make music that people would consider part of their life soundtrack.

Twist Online : Tell us about your debut project Pacifico?
Brice Sedgwick : I was initially writing for other artists, then I decided to hold onto certain songs. I decided that i couldn’t let go of a particular few of them, and once i had decided to keep them, I sung them how they were originally written (for me!) and almost instantly decided to craft my own record. I wanted to keep the sonic landscape of the record quite broad, very broad. I wanted to dip my toes into different sounds and fuse different sonics together, all the while keeping them wrapped up in a nice, neat ‘pop’ box. The majority of the album was written whilst i was living in London.

Twist Online : All the tracks are good but any particular track(s) that you will recommend to our readers?
Brice Sedgwick : My personal favorite would be Midnight in Echo, but I am also extremely fond of Tortoiseshell Sky. I find it extremely hypnotic to listen to. Another favorite would be the album closer, Holding On At The Start Of Summer, which features my friend, LA based singer Mozes.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Brice Sedgwick : Very positive. It’s nice to get all kinds of feedback.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Brice Sedgwick : I love performing live. However, working in a studio, and experimenting with different approaches to a wall of sound is extremely satisfying, and why I never stop writing new music. I love seeing how it evolves, and the finished product.

Twist Online : All the tracks are written by you ?
Brice Sedgwick : All tracks are written by me, and co-produced by me.

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Brice Sedgwick : I am planning to release a new record within the next year, and I plan to have a very sonically cohesive record this time around.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Brice Sedgwick : I am. It’s all written, and i’m excited to get it out there.
