Cam Holtet talks about her new single “what they want”
We recently interviewed London-based Norwegian singer/songwriter and electronic pop artist Cam Holtet who will be releasing her brand new single “what they want” Friday 9th August 2019.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Cam Holtet : I’m a 27 year-old electropop singer-songwriter from Trondheim, Norway. I moved to London to grow as an artist and have been living here for over 2.5 years so far.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Cam Holtet : I have always been a bit of a music geek. I started out analysing other artist’s lyrics when I was a teenager have since been writing lyrics as a way to express myself. I love picking up stories, messages and energies through music. There is so many people that I feel inspired by but seeing other female artists performing and dancing around on stage is very appealing to me. Fickle Friends, Halsey, Tove Lo and Sigrid are some of them.
Twist Online : Tell us about your upcoming release “What they want”?
Cam Holtet : I wrote ‘what they want’ after I had quit one of my previous jobs without having any plan of what to do next. This song is about wanting to change someone’s negative perception towards you; but after some time, sweat & tears realising that it’s not always possible to change someone’s mind. Finding that confidence in yourself is pretty hard after giving your 100% best, time after time
Twist Online : What kind of response you are expecting from the release?
Cam Holtet : I have no expectations but of course hope the current and new listeners will like it!
Twist Online : Any plans of making video of the song in near future?
Cam Holtet : Currently I haven’t got any plans about that but you never know.. 😉 If so it will be posted on my youtube-vevo channel (camholtetmusic)
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music artist?
Cam Holtet : Definitely the kick you get when you’re in the studio transforming ideas to actual songs! And especially if you’re working with someone that gets your thoughts
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Cam Holtet : I only set personal goals to myself once in a while. I simply wake up every day feeling grateful for what I’ve got and make the most of everything. I guess my greatest goal is to inspire others through my music and my positive outlook on life

Cam Holtet : Always! 😉
