Conversation with an aspiring filmmaker and recording artist Jamez Hunter
Today on our Hot Seat we have multi-talented Jamez Hunter with us. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of please introduce yourself to our readers?
Jamez Hunter : My name is Jamez Hunter, and I am an aspiring filmmaker and recording artist from Kansas City, Missouri hunting for a chance to showcase my charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into entertainment industry?
Jamez Hunter : Being a theatre kid, I love to be on stage performing in general. Seeing that I love to make music also, I thought that it would be a good idea to mix the two and possibly make a career out of it.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent projects?
Jamez Hunter : I am currently working on a music video, while releasing two new songs within the next month. Originally my music video for Party Like a Pornstar featuring CupcakKe was going to be my first ever music video, but for some reason she has never emailed or messaged me back about it. I’ve sent countless emails since September of last year after the song was released. Seven months later, I took a hint and decided to remake the song and get rid of her verse by replacing it with my own that I wrote. The song is called Party Like a Pornstar 2.0 and is set to release May 12th. The music video will be shot May 18th and will be released online within a week or so after filming. After that, my next single, #Sickening, that will be released on June 1st.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the fans and critics so far?
Jamez Hunter : I’ve only seen a few posts from people online, and they all seemed to love the song I did with CupcakKe. I have yet to see a negative comment.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, making films or making music?
Jamez Hunter : That’s a hard one. Music has always been my number one passion, but filming is a lot more fun when you have the right people around you that is. My tv show College Code that I had on KNWT Channel 8 created some of the best memories I had in college. My cast and crew were the best.
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Jamez Hunter : My favorite music genre would more than likely be pop music.
Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve?
Jamez Hunter : I would love to perform in Las Vegas if at all possible by the end of this year.
Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?
Jamez Hunter : I’m always writing music for my upcoming album. It takes me time to write. I prefer to live life and gather inspiration from it unlike most artists who write a song in five or ten minutes about nothing and somehow get nominated for multiple grammies.
