Ny’a : I started professionally out of college. I used to perform in local talent shows, but nothing serious. I guess you could my husband Eugene Napoleon discovered me. He felt that I should take my talents to the next level. From that we started our own record label Nap Records and moved from there. Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Ny’a : I never thought when I was a child that I’d be in the industry, but I always wrote and sang my own songs. I wrote every day. Eugene Napoleon inspired me to take the next step into the music industry. He believed in my talents and together we made our moves throughout this industry.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “Something for Everybody.” ?
Ny’a : I’m super excited about “Something For Everybody”. Technically this is my Sophomore album. The whole project is produced by Grammy nominated producer Kenny Black ‘the music machine”. He is dope, it was great working with him. I wrote all of the songs on the album. The album was released October 27, 2017. I feel like this project has music that everybody can enjoy. I’m trying to bring R and B back fused with a current vibe.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Ny’a : Since the release of “Something for Everybody” I’ve heard nothing but positive feedback. We had a Release party this past Friday and everyone there was impressed with the album.
