Conversation with young and talented singer-songwriter London King

We are sharing our recent interview with young, fresh and talented British singer-songwriter London King.

Twist Online : First of all do introduce yourself to our readers?

London King : Hi there, my name is London King. I am a 21 years old singer-songwriter, author, dancer and actress. I live in London, UK, and i recently finished my second in studio EP, called ‘Antichrist Child’.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?

London King : David Bowie, Freddie Mercury and Madonna are three of my biggest inspiration. They made me love music since age five. I discovered them through my older brothers. I also love Depeche Mode and Lady Gaga.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “Antichrist Child”?

London King : It’s the EP i have always wanted to make. It’s very honest, straight forward and genuine. Also, i was thinking of making an electronic EP for long time. I have always loved this genre of music. I believe my voice really suits this genre. However, going back to the EP, it’s also rather dark towards the end, but that’s all part of the growth i have been through, as an artist. Antichrist Child is a big metaphor. Especially this year, i have met loads of judgmental people, that condemned my freedom of mind. They label you as a ‘bad girl’, if you don’t follow the society standards. Hence, the title of the album. My freedom is important, and i don’t care if i get labelled as a ‘bad girl’.

Twist Online : Any particular track from the EP that’s your favorite?

London King : Immortality. It’s the story of a girl who’s got only fame and performing to look forward to. She lives for the applauses and the stage lights, so she does everything in her power to achieve her goal, even sell her soul.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?

London King : Very positive. Everybody loved they new sound, and people from different parts of the world congratulated me. It makes me very happy. I also had some people who, obviously, blamed my change of musical style on the fact that i want to become more commercial, to gain more attention, but i have always been a pop artist.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?

London King : Both. They are both inspiring and stimulating. Plus, wherever there is music, for me, it’s heaven. Live music though always gives me chills.

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?

London King :I’d say pop, but i also love rock. In general, if i like the flow of a track, then i like it, doesn’t matter what genre.

Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?

London King : Of course, you always do. I am very hard working, focused, and i know where i want to be, and what i will achieve. I have my mind made up since fourteen years old.

Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?

London King : Yes. I am already working on some new music, a short movie, a documentary, and a new novel, since i am also an author.
