Conversation with Young Producer From UK “Nekore”
Today on our Hot Seat we have a young music producer “Nekore” with us. Lets have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Nekore :My name’s Harvey, and I produce all kinds of electronic music under the name nekore. I’m a 16 year old from the UK hoping to inspire a bunch of people with my tunes.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Nekore : Well, when I first started producing, I made happy hardcore music, in fact it’s actually part of the meaning behind my name.
So I’d say I was inspired to get into the industry mostly by other hardcore artists like S3RL. Today the music I produce is totally different, but I must say the first time I really decided to get into music was when hearing the creativity in S3RL’s music. Thinking ‘I want to make something I can be as in awe of as this’.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent project ?
Nekore : So I recently released a remix of my good friend CONUNDRUM’s track ‘Mirage City’. Inspired by a bunch of dreamy/wide music like Medasin and his ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ remix.
It’s performed super well on soundcloud, gaining just over 55,000 plays in a week.
Twist Online : What kind of response have you received from the release?
Nekore : It’s all been positive, my best track yet I think.
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music producer?
Nekore : I mean, besides the love for music, what I really love is how it’s possible to make an impact on other people. To make someone feel a certain way is one of the best things about being a producer – a creator. I love when someone lets me know that I’ve made a difference, however small.
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Nekore : I don’t really like any one genre, I’m all about good music. Though I must say I’m currently into a lot of indie dance and future bass like Porter Robinson.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Nekore : A big goal of mine is to perform live as nekore. I’ve DJ’d a few times in the past but nothing I could be proud of. Perhaps some time this year?…
Like pretty much every other musician out there, I’m also working towards making music a full time career.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Nekore : I’m always working on new music haha. Though I can’t confirm what my next release will be, I’ve switched to a slightly darker style of music lately, hoping it’ll be as positively received as my latest track.
