DubKreature talks about his music and life
Today on our Hot Seat we have music artist DubKreature with us. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
DubKreature : My Name is Damon Byrne and I go by the artist name DubKreature
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
DubKreature : The thing that really got me into the idea of performing music was from when I was a kid playing music with my best friends in local bars and music competitions. It’s that whole Idea of being on stage alongside people that want to share the fun with you. Sharing the fun with people to give everyone a fun time, I cant find a better reason.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release Easy Love?
DubKreature : It’s a heavy bass house electronic track with a jacking house vibe to it. It was made using just my headphones and a laptop while I was settling into Canada after the move away from Ireland. My whole goal was to try and create a bouncy, heavy filthy track that had that edge to it but could also engage with most people.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
DubKreature : It’s been awesome far! Artist from vastly different genres have been writing to me about how it gets them in the zone. That’s just really cool to me, having my music light a fire under someone to get inspired to create more music, it’s a really cool feeling. And there is the responses from everyone being super supportive and the odd jokes about the track being as filthy as my life haha. Overall it’s been super successful
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
DubKreature : Ah that’s a funny one to answer, no one played any instruments in the household but that didn’t stop just the sheer amount of different music coming through the radio in the kitchen. My mam would be dancing away to trance, my younger sister nodding to pop, aunties playing nu metal, uncles playing industrial or punk rock all the way to east 17, My Grandmother dancing away to reggae, swing and big band. There was never a shortage of different styles of music playing and I grew to appreciate all of them. So I don’t really have a favourite.

Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music artist?
DubKreature : I feel it’s the certain type of defiance you have as an artist. If you are making something new there are all these rules to qualify as x genre and you are y type of artist. I understand they are so people know what to look for but I always loved when artist kinda pushed that rule a little bit. Or when you have two different genres fuse together. Something quite cool about that.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
DubKreature : My goals are to keep creating music first and foremost, Improve my production, build my dream studio and getting behind the decks and doing some sets.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
DubKreature : I have more singles coming out this year as Dubkreature, all heavy, all awesome and switching between electronic genres. Also have a chill out jazz/electronic EP that I made with a good buddy I met while we were working on a ski resort. A few rap/electronic fusions down the line. Can’t say much but there will no shortage of music coming out this year.
Twist Online : What’s the best way to follow you online?
DubKreature : My Instagram is where I’m most active @dubkreature I put the links to my new music there and links to my mixes and just random things happening on my journey.
