Joseph Duveen interview

Interview With A Multi Talented Artist Joseph Duveen

Sharing with our readers our recent interview with a multi-talented artist Joseph Duveen. His recent track with DJ Lodato has done extremely well.

Twist Online : Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Joseph Duveen : What up people?! I’m Joseph Duveen from Queens NY. I’m a musician / songwriter / producer or what I like to call, a Song Designer.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Joseph Duveen : My family is very musically inclined. Everybody plays instruments so it was only natural for me to. I got into piano and guitar early and always loved all types of music. I always wrote my little songs as a hobby but I decided to take it serious at 18 when I found out about Five Towns College. I was sold once I saw the multi-million dollar studio classroom at open house … and the grind officially started. There I learned about recording and began to build my own home setup.

Twist Online : Your recent release done really well, you must be excited with the kind of response you got?
Joseph Duveen : Yes Me and DJ Lodato just collaborated on my very 1st release as an artist called “Older”. I been around a while but behind the scenes mostly. I write a lot of demos intended to be references for other artists but Lodato loved my vibe on the Older idea and convinced me to keep my vocal on it. It went #1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart which was definitely exciting because I never expected the support I received being a new artist.

Twist Online : How was your experience working with DJ Lodato?
Joseph Duveen : Awww man, me and him go back over 10 years. We have creative telepathy with each other when it comes to making songs. Plus he takes songs in directions you never see coming and the team is always like “Wow”. I’ve got to witness his evolution and being he is so consistent I’m just amped up to see what we will be making in a year or two. As far as Older, I have to admit Lodato was Wired! during the making of it like he knew it was going to be a good look for us from the start. I guess its his DJ Spidey sense.

Twist Online : What interests you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Joseph Duveen : I’m all about the studio. It’s my sanctuary and comfort zone. But Im also all about challenges and new chapters so getting out there on stage is something I’m ready to do. I’m going to incorporate some instruments in the show eventually and you can expect a dope routine. I’ve been running out to perform Older during Lodato’s sets but thats one song… we have a fully loaded clip of finished music that will be dropping soon so we’ll be able to showcase a full project.

Twist Online : Are you influenced by any particular music genre?
Joseph Duveen : I’d say a little bit of everything. I bump all the era’s on Sirius XM, 70’s on 7, 80’s on 8 etc. The 90s was my era though. I remember being hella young listening to Billy Joel, Aerosmith, Kriss Kross, MC Hammer, Wu-Tang, DMX, Nirvana, Metallica, Ace Of Base, Boyz 2 Men to name a few… if that gives you an idea of the diversity. My mom took me to KiSS for my first concert. I’ve been in a pit at a Korn concert and smoked out at a Cash Money concert.

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve as a music artist?
Joseph Duveen : Keep getting better, don’t get stuck in one way of doing things, make sure I keep authenticity in my work, and just see wherever that takes me… maybe a grammy too or two.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Joseph Duveen : Yup Lodato and I are about to release some new singles. Look out for “Friends” and “Breathe Again” Coming Soon!

Twist Online : Are you active on social media? What’s the best way to follow you online?
Joseph Duveen : My Instagram is @JosephDuveen and Twitter is @Joseph_Duveen …but I maintain a low pro lol. you won’t find any daily personal content on my social media. I want you to be a fan of the music and not so much a lifestyle. Def lock in with me so you can get updates on new tunes and see behind the scenes clips and show footage! Good talking to ya! Laterrrr!!!
