Raven Salve:
My name is Raven Salve, born in Pensacola, Florida raised by the way of Mobile, Alabama. I like to call myself a city-country girl. Homely, down to earth outgoing, and full of life. I write what I feel and live what I write.

Twist Online: You have been attached to music since a very early age, what was the inspiration behind your love for music?
Raven Salve
: Music has always been a healing place for me. Before life ever hit me, music was excitement in my day. I just felt a sense of home when I would sing or listen to music.

Twist Online: Tell us about your recent release Cry For America?
Raven Salve:
Cry for America actually was written six or seven years ago during the Travon Martin And Mike Brown killings. The words just truly began to flow through the heavy emotions I was feeling at the time. Cry for America was my way of speaking out about the injustices that my race and sex have through each and every day.

Twist Online: Our readers would like to know more about your Non-Profit Organization WAR&DV?
Raven Salve:
Yes W.A.R &D.V was started in 2014 by me and my mom. We both are survivors of abuse. I don’t want to speak too much on my mom’s story because she can definitely tell her own. As for me, my innocence was taken at just the tender age of three by a woman. Before I even knew what life was. For most, it stops there. However for me. The abuse wouldn’t stop until I was 13 years old. I was taken advantage of by many boys and men sexually and mentally throughout that time so much that by the time I was able to make choices of my own they were always the wrong ones. So W.A.R &D.V was my way of helping young men and women of all ages that they can fight yes it’s a war but the battle is already won with God on your side. Finding life through the pain. was a motto that W.A.R &D.V was built on.

Twist Online: What kind of response you have received so far from the track so far?
Raven Salve:
Honestly it has been very positive feedback and I am very grateful for all the positive feedback from the record

Twist Online: Any plans of releasing a music video of the track or any other recent track?
Raven Salve:
I am thinking of doing a video for the track as well as some others but with covid, it was placed on hold.

Twist Online: What attracts you more, Working in studios or performing on stage?
Raven Salve :

Performing on stage most definitely I feel at home and alive when I’m on stage. Honestly, this might sound crazy but I am very shy and I become uncomfortable in the studio because it’s such a small confined space and all eyes are on me. Crazy right I know. But on the stage, it’s like my entire self transforms and I’m free to be exactly who God created me to be.

Twist Online What’s the best part of being a music artist?
Raven Salve:
The best part is being able to tell my story across the world whom I probably would have never come across on an ordinary day. To be able to help another through my music or my performances or even talks is more than I can ask for in life or from being an artist.
