Interview with a talented artist ‘Blythe Baines’
Today on our Hot Seat we have a talented artist Blythe Baines. Lets have a chat with her.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Blythe Baines : I’m Blythe Baines. Nice to meet you!
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Blythe Baines : My friend Jaylen just brought me in for a studio session of his a couple of years ago and I became hooked on recording. I liked how satisfying it felt to go in without knowing what you were going to work on at all and to come out with a more-or-less finished song every session. Then, my friend Soren Bryce started producing for me and I really started finding my “Blythe sound”. She and I are really into making ironic music together. The funny thing about it though is that life imitates art. I used to take dog filter selfies ironically but now it’s definitely become a
“thing”.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent single Stars ?
Blythe Baines : I like to describe “Stars” as an homage to Carl Sagan. It’s a fun love song about the universe. I recorded it with a really talented producer friend of mine, Reece Hampton. I came up with the idea for it after seeing a painting he did of planet Earth.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Blythe Baines : I’ve honestly been so humbled by the reaction to “Stars”. A few radio stations have played it, which has been really exciting for me.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Blythe Baines : I consider myself more of a studio musician. I feel so much more comfortable in the studio, especially because I have such great relationships with all the producers I work with. I’m going to push myself to start doing more live shows though!
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Blythe Baines : Surprisingly enough, the kind of music I listen to on my own time is really different from the music I make. I’m really into Radiohead and Tom Petty and classical music. Movie scores, especially. Everything Hans Zimmer has ever composed is perfection.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Blythe Baines : Gosh, I’ve got lots of goals. A main one is just to make the people who are listening to my music feel something. I want to release a full-length album someday soon.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Blythe Baines : I’m currently working on an EP that I plan to release later this year! Also, I’ve been doing collaborations with some really neat artists and producers that are yet to be released. Also, music videos are coming in the near future as well.
