Interview with a talented composer Sean Hayden
We are sharing our recent interview with music composer and writer Sean Hayden.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Sean Hayden : My name is Sean Hayden and I’m a composer from Canada who writes music for television, film, advertising, and all things media.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into the music industry?
Sean Hayden : It sounds silly but when I was seven or eight years old, I knew I wanted to do music for the rest of my life. There wasn’t any particular event that I can point to that inspired me, it was just something that was in me. My dad was the same way with his career, but he was only three years old!
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent work?
Sean Hayden : Well, my most recent work I can’t say much about yet! But one of my favorite recent projects was ‘Gary & His Demons’. It’s an animated adult comedy that’s absolutely hysterical. We wanted to score the show where most of the time it was fairly serious (musically), but then it’d be broken up with some absurd musical numbers every now and then. It was a real treat to work on.
Twist Online : What kind of response have you received so far?
Sean Hayden : Great! People draw up fan art fairly often which has been really fun to see posted and shared online.
Twist Online : What’s your favorite project to date?
Sean Hayden : That’s a tough one. It’s hard for me to name one as my absolute favorite due to the sheer variety. One that comes to mind was for Red Bull. They wanted some music for their production library and they basically gave me free reign to do what I wanted, as long as it had ‘that Red Bull sound’. That was a lot fun.
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music composer?
Sean Hayden : I love the variety I get to work with. Everything from the types of shows, to what genres your working with, what instruments your using, etc. It’s always changing and evolving, and creativity is always encouraged.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Sean Hayden : Always! My goals though are pretty simple and mainly revolve around getting better at my craft. My constant goal is to keep producing content everyday. Never stop learning.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Sean Hayden : I am, but you’ll have to wait until the next interview for me to tell you more about it. 🙂
