Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Jaron Marquis : Well, My name is Jaron Marquis. I’m a hip-hop recording artist from Indianapolis Indiana.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Jaron Marquis : Since I was around eight years old I began writing songs. I learned to play the piano and drums around the age of ten. I began writing music for my youth choir in church and later on I was introduced to battle rapping and hip-hop when I became a teenager. When I was a freshman in high school, I started a music label called ShyBoy Entertainment, where my friends and I would host parties and perform. I did battle rap for some time and loved every bit of it. But after high school, my life took some turns and I was forced to put music on the shelf.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent project “Murdered My Excuses”?
Jaron Marquis : For years, I have been wanting to get back into music, wholeheartedly. I kept coming up with excuses as to why I could not do it, or should not do it. Whether it was, “there is not money in music” or “I have kids now, I can’t be on tour like that.” There was always an excuse…I made the decision to murder my excuses because I wanted to do what I loved and kill anything that was standing in my way…even if it meant…my excuses.
Twist Online : Any particular track of the album that’s your favorite?
Jaron Marquis : “Finally” Because I am here…Finally I am here.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Jaron Marquis : A Lot of really good feedback and responses. People love my sound…people love my music and I love them for loving it. It’s really amazing how much people can relate to my story and my journey to go after my dreams.
Twist Online : Tell us about your upcoming tour?
Jaron Marquis :I will be performing in West Hollywood at The Airliner and then in July I will be getting together with the Taylor Made Crew and opening up for Project Pat. Then to Vegas and the Bay area and then I’ll be rounding up some shows in San Diego and one more in Los Angeles.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Jaron Marquis :I love them both equally. On stage its a one time experience, I can create an amazing set that will get the crowd hype and going crazy. But in the studio, I am building the song that starts that entire process!
