Interview with a talented rapper Young Honey
Today on our Hot Seat we have rapper Young Honey with us. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Young Honey : My name is Jon, I go by Young Honey, I started rapping in Pittsburgh, PA and recently moved back home to Miami to get my health in order along with focusing on making music.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Young Honey : All my friends at University and I would freestyle late at night and it was from there that we eventually brought in a mic and started writing and rapping on beats for real. So it’d be wrong to not shout out, Trezza, Prem, Caputo, Uday, Sam, Justin, Dylan, Zac, Bryce, Adam, Daniel, and everyone else that has been so incredible and supportive throughout this entire process. They’ve been the best homies and have been there when I stumble, and are there to celebrate the successes, and they’re the reason I’ve been able to do this.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release ?
Young Honey : I recently put out FYM (Fuck You Mean) to follow my Hurt Me, Killer Mixtape. FYM focuses on all the anger I’ve been feeling since I had to leave University. It was really difficult to leave behind all my friends and everyone I’ve been working with.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Young Honey : Everything so far has been pretty positive! The main thing I care about is that at least one person is bumping to it 🙂
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Young Honey : I’ve always been the biggest fan of classic rock (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Tom Petty)
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music artist?
Young Honey : I feel like telling people you’re a rapper gets a lot of eyes rolling, but following it up with proving that you can spit and showing them that you’re not a joke is so satisfying, I absolutely live for it.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Young Honey : I’m hoping to start performing live, I aim to get my music on multiple platforms outside of youtube and Soundcloud. I also hope to expand my outreach on releases and find ways to promote my music.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Young Honey : I’m working on a new mixtape and I regularly release singles on my Soundcloud page! I love putting out new stuff and bringing consistent, well produced, music.
