Interview with a young talented music producer Viewz 999

Today on Our Hot Seat we have music producer Viewz 999 with us. Let’s have a chat with him.

Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Viewz 999 : Hi, my name’s Viewz 999 and I’m an 18 year old music producer from California.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into the music industry?
Viewz 999 : I have sooooo many inspirations. Most of them are underground SoundCloud artists but I think once I heard “TTD” by NAV, it really set the bar for me and inspired me to produce music. Either way, I was always super involved with music. I would graphic design album work for artists and later directed/edited music videos for local talent.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release?
Viewz 999 : “Lo$er by Yxng Davi ft. Yung Tears” is my latest production work. I also did the vocal engineering and the cover art. That song is definitely taking us to the next level. Tears and I are from the Bay Area and Davi is from Wisconsin. We work remotely a lot but we always get a great song in the end.

Twist Online : What kind of response have you received from the release?
Viewz 999 : So far we’re off to a strong start. A solid 7k in 4 days and it hasn’t even been distributed to major platforms yet. It’s definitely on track to being one of our biggest songs.

Twist Online : You seem to have a good working experience with hip-hop artist Yxng Davi. Tell us your background.
Viewz 999 : “Lo$er” is the 5th song I’ve produced for Davi. I met him on Soundcloud around May of 2017. I heard his song “Bottle of Love” because it played randomly and I noticed how genuine Davi was on the mic. He wasn’t shy at all and that’s exactly what I told him. He’s a star in the making without a doubt. The first beat I ever sent him turned out to be “Over and Out” and it now has over 100k plays in its first 6 months of its release. And that’s just on Soundcloud.

Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music producer?
Viewz 999 : I think it’s seeing how something I made in my bedroom can impact so many people. I love scrolling through the comments of our songs as well.

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve for 2019?
Viewz 999 : I really want to see a song hit a million this year. 100k was already a huge milestone for me but I know 1 million is obtainable. I also want to travel around more and grow more as a person. I’ve been to a really strong start this year but I got to keep thinking bigger and better. I’d like to meet and work with some of the artists and producers that inspired to produce music. I also need to meet all of the artists I’ve produced for. We need to link up in LA as soon as possible!
I think another goal for me would be to help out the local artists from my city. I know they put in a lot of work.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new projects?
Viewz 999 : Always! Me and Davi work song after song nonstop. I’m also going to be coming out with music with Wisconsin artist Yung Trench. He’s Davi’s friend and they work closely as well. I have something in the works with some friends from Canada but that’s top secret. Since I started producing, I have been working on an entire album produced by me titled “MOMENTS+MEMORIES”. I plan on having a bunch of artists featured on that album including everyone I’ve worked with already. I don’t know if I’ll drop that this year but its definitely a possibility.
