Interview with an upcoming artist Emcea

This week in our interview section we have an upcoming music artist Emcea.

He has been working hard on his music skills recently and his recent release Mixed Emotions is the proof of talent he got. We really need to backup such talented and passionate artist to get the new blood in this music industry.

Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
Emcea :It came out of nowhere to be honest with you. I didn’t really grow up thinking about what I wanted to do when I was older, I was like most other kids…Just living life.
It was only once I had become a teenager when I started to think about what I seriously wanted to do. Back in 2014 I was fully dreaming to play professional basketball. I’d train everyday with an academy and was as determined as I could have possibly been but moving to Auckland,New Zealand from my hometown Kaitaia in 2016 had opened up my mind to new pathways and the pathway I just so happened to choose was this. So here I am.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Emcea : I have many inspirations, though one I have always looked up to since the very start of my career has been Tupac. I mean he was straight gangsta and I’m gonna tell you now that I’m far from that
but what inspired me the most to do music was when I saw how Tupac had made such an impact on the world by simply using the talent he was born with. He was misunderstood and mistreated to an extent far worse than I ever was but just like him I want to create music that will inspire people to stand up for themselves, or to express how they truly feel.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release?
Emcea : Mixed Emotions was just like my career choice…out of nowhere. I study audio engineering so one day I got into the studio with a few classmates and we pretty much freestyled an entire compilation of songs in under 30 minutes. Mixed Emotions was the song I chose to release out of the lot mostly because it was relevant to how I was feeling at the time.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Emcea : Being my first release I didn’t expect much from it, but so far the release has been doing pretty good. People are slowly getting on the vibe, so lets hope I can carry on to put out stuff that people will like.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Emcea : What attracts me more isn’t really something I’ve thought about. I kind of just go with it and if it happens then it happens. I’m always down for something if its got to do with music.

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Emcea : Not all music I make will reflect this, but my favourite genre hands down has got to be hip hop.

Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
Emcea : People say they just want to blow up and get rich which that would be nice, but right now my main goal is to make my place in the industry and get out there more so that I can carry on to set bigger goals in which will ultimately help my career.

Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other projects?
Emcea : I’m working on two projects. One that will hopefully be out within the next couple of months and the other due to release before the end of the year. Definite dates haven’t been thought up yet, but you can keep up with all my releases by either following my spotify or my Instagram.
