Interview with an upcoming DJ & Producer Liam Nelson
Today on our Hot Seat we have an upcoming DJ/Producer Liam Nelson. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
Liam Nelson : Around 2 years ago I told myself I wanted to learn how to DJ so I bought some equipment and taught myself how to use it by reading books, watching tutorial videos and just trying things out and when I couldn’t do something or didn’t understand something I just did more research and read more until I could understand.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Liam Nelson : I always loved watching DJ’s play at parties and when I came across Will Sparks and the whole underground Melbourne Bounce scene I fell in love with it and knew straight away that’s what I would love to do. Since then I never turned back and have been striving every day to become better and chase my dream.
Twist Online : What kind of music you mostly make? What’s your favorite music genre?
Liam Nelson : I mostly do Melbourne Bounce, Minimal, Kick Bass and everything EDM.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “I Like Me Better”?
Liam Nelson : One day I heard this song by Jauz and I enjoyed it but really wanted to hear it in my style and make it fit into my mixes.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Liam Nelson : I Like Me Better (Liam Nelson Bootleg) has gotten the best response online out of all of my bootlegs. It has received more likes and plays then any of my other tracks.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Liam Nelson : I absolutely love performing on stage and getting to play the music I love to people. I get nervous before playing but as soon as I start the nerves melt away and get replaced with loads of energy and passion. Getting to play my music to people and watching them dance and sing is by far the best experience I have ever had and every time I play it’s the new best night of my life.
Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
Liam Nelson : Unlike most people who set a huge goal to achieve I have always set small goals and when I achieve them it’s time to set a bigger better one. It started with me just wanting to teach myself how to DJ and once I achieved that the next one was to play at the biggest and best club in my home town. I managed to achieve that also and since then I have kept setting goals slightly bigger then the last and spending all my free time trying to achieve it.
Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?
Liam Nelson : I actually have a few different projects I’m working on that I have wanted to work on for a while. I have new bootlegs coming out and a new mixtape/podcast series in the works that I am so excited to share with everyone.
