
Interview with ‘Bro Code The Label’ co-founder Smooth the Pilot
We are sharing our recent interview with Smooth The Pilot who has just released his first album “the Kickback Vol1” under his label ‘Bro Code The Label’.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Smooth the Pilot : My name is Jeremy Thompson (Smooth the Pilot ) I’m a producer from Roanoke Virginia. I am the co-founder and producer for Bro Code The Label.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Smooth the Pilot : Growing up I always had a passion for music. Watching producers like Timbaland, Pharrell, Dr. Dre and a couple more, I knew I wanted to do something in the music business, just didn’t know what. I tried rapping but felt it wasn’t for me and beat making just came natural
He Twist Online : What was the motive behind launching your own record label?
Smooth the Pilot : In my city it’s a bunch of talent. We just don’t have the resources and outlets like the big cities. I felt if I formed a group with everybody striving for the same goal it would be easier. So I got with a couple local artist, some went to school with others met through networking and friends and pitched the idea. Everyone was down for it and here we are now.
Twist Online : You recently released your first album “the Kickback Vol1. Tell us about that?
Smooth the Pilot : The Kickback is the labels first release that dropped June 1st available on iTunes, Spotify, google play and over 700 more online retailers . It features a song from every artist on the label
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Smooth the Pilot : So far we have gained a lot of new fans both local and in other countries. We’re still waiting on our 1st month results.
Twist Online : Do you like to work with some specific music genres?
Smooth the Pilot : I am always willing to work with different types of music but Hip Hop, trap and R and B are my bread and butter
Twist Online : What’s your next goal to achieve ?
Smooth the Pilot :I want to make Bro Code a household name. I don’t want to just be known for music I also have a new clothing line. Me and the team have some big things in store. It’s more than music it’s a lifestyle.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Smooth the Pilot : we are currently wrapping up our new Album “Losing Patience” from artist Devon Antonio and Fedii Millz. This project is deep and tells stories of their struggles in life and desire to make it in the industry. I have watched these guys grow a lot over the years and proud to see their success.
