Today on our Hot Seat we have a talented artist Eddie Bars with us. He recently released an Album ‘The Note Pad‘ so the focus of our conversation will be on the Album.

Twist Online : Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Eddie Bars : Hey Everyone! It’s Hip-Hop/Rap/R&B’s New Favorite Artist “Eddie Bars” also known as Eddie B or Bars. Being born in Chicago, IL (9/7/94) I was heavily influenced by the strong music culture that stems from there. Artist like Common, Kanye, Lupe Fiasco, Twista and many more paved the way for my generations music. There is nothing better than just relaxing and listening to some good music with great content! I fell in love with music at 10 and started making it at 11 years old. I Just recently released a brand new EP/Album called “The Note Pad’ 1 which is Available almost Everywhere including iTunes, Amazon Music, Google Music, Apple Music, Spotify, iHeartRadio and many more. I can’t wait to Release “The Note Pad” 2 Next Winter!

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Eddie Bars : My biggest inspiration to start making music came from struggling. Music to me is like Therapy. Growing up in a middle class area being raised by a single mother isn’t easy. To deal with my problems I would go and vent to my microphone. All my stress would go away when I heard an instrumental or a song that my issues would relate with. Mos Def, Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne, Eminem and Wiz Khalifa were probably my biggest influences to get into the music industry. They’re very positive and very all-around talented.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent Album ‘The Note Pad’?
Eddie Bars : Okay! So “The Note Pad” 1 just released Jan. 28th, 2017. It wasn’t actually suppose to be released until Valentines Day. I personally recorded/engineered this whole Album at my home project studio in Columbus, OH from Oct. 2016 til around Christmas of 2016. This album was inspired by an old Note Pad that I found in my closet summer 2016. There was all types of old memories in it from Ex-Girlfriends to unfinished song ideas, work notes and some art I doodled. That same day I found it I had also found a number to a producer i met in Boston, MA years back. I reached out to him and he sent me over the track for the single “Lowkey”. I sat down with my Producer Kage” from Columbus, OH for another project we were working on called “Inevitable”. I showed him the concept for “Lowkey” and he told me I should definitely record it and see how it came out. Long story short all of my team agreed i should make an entire project with this new R&B/Hip-Hop vibe I had found. Months later a worked with a few other producers to come up with the rest of the album. It was originally suppose to be 10 songs on the album until ALL OF THE ORIGINAL FILES AS WELL AS MY COMPUTER WAS STOLEN on Jan. 5th, 2017! I had already made a test CD to hear the line up of songs/Track list back in December. Once my laptop had been stolen I immediately submitted the test CD to my distrubution company just in case I wouldn’t be able to get the files from my hard drive. Weeks passed and I realized that i needed to give the okay to my distrubutor 30-60 Days before the expected release date. So I called and had the Test CD with only seven songs released as the EP. I use to sing when i was very young but stopped around age 13 when i got serious about rapping. This album has definitely inspired me to start again. I hope everyone enjoys the album! (Now Available)

Twist Online : All the songs of the Album are super. Any particular song that’s your favorite?
Eddie Bars : My favorite song from “The Note Pad” 1 unfortunately wasn’t released. It was called “Needs”! It featured a woman singer on the first verse as well as background on the chorus. As well as a third verse in Spanish. The Production was done by “Kage Productions”. It was a nice R&B vibe mixed with a nice dancy, Caribbean/reggae feel. I hope to release a Special Edition of “The Note Pad” in the spring. But my second favorite song from the project would definitely have to be between “Miracle” and “Late Night”.

Twist Online : What kind of response it has received so far?
Eddie Bars : I’ve heard a lot of good responses so far! Although a lot of my core fans were surprised to hear me using more of my voice and less of my metaphors and aggressive flows. They all said they Loved it! My female and international fan base has increased a crazy amount since the release. I plan on doing a worldwide promo campaign starting Valentines Day and maybe that will help me get even more feedback. I believe with the mixture of hip-hop/rap and R&B this album will finally get me the exposure I’ve been waiting for!

Twist Online : What do you enjoy more performing on stage or working in studios?
Eddie Bars : Although I’ve been told to be an amazing performer and I love the rush i get when im on stage. There is nothing like the release and happiness you feel when your creating a new song. I would have to say I enjoy recording just a little bit more.

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve as a music artist?
Eddie Bars : Yes I have! My top 3 2017 goals are to Perform at the SXSW event this summer, Do a feature/collaboration with 3 of the Top artist in the music industry and to have one of my songs enter the billboard charts.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Eddie Bars : Yes I am! I’m currently working closely with my new producer “Kage Productions” on my second album called “Inevitable”. Kage will be producing the entire album and I’m hoping to get at least one of my favorite artist to feature on one of the tracks.
