Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
L.O Heemz : My name is L.O Heemz, I’m just a dude from Brooklyn trying to get my music heard by the world. I know I have a message to give to the world, just like all of us I just happen to give my message through melodies and lyrics.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
L.O Heemz : I was inspired by hiphop, I was at my aunt house and she’s a big hiphop fan, so a song came on and it was bone thugs n harmony feat biggie on that song “Notorious Thugs” once I heard it i was captivated by the sound and the feel of that track. That was the first hiphop song I ever heard ever since then I was hooked. I knew i wanted to make people feel how i felt when i heard that song. That’s still one of my favorite hiphop songs of all times.
Twist Online : Tell us about your upcoming EP titled “God In Sheep’s Clothing” ?
L.O Heemz : God In Sheep’s Clothing is something I’ve been working on for a while, and it’s definitely my greatest project so far, n I know a lot of artist say that but I’m dead ass lol. I grew during the process of making this EP, I had a daughter, I lost friends, family, met new people. Life experiences is what motivates me to write and during the process of this EP I been thru a lot, I also experimented with different styles and sounds on this project, so I think people will be shocked with the new and improved sound.
Twist Online : What kind of response your previous projects have received?
L.O Heemz : My previous projects was received pretty well, it made people realize that I can actually make songs, a lot of artist can rap and have punchlines and cool bars but not a lot of artist can construct a song with a hook, bridge etc.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
L.O Heemz : I like working in the studio because it put me in my element I love the process of creating, and writing, and just finding melodies and lines out of no where. Performing is cool, and I love the rush I get but nothing is better than creating something out of nothing but a beat and your mind.
Twist Online : You also have been into spirituality. Our readers would like to know more about that?
L.O Heemz : Yeah, I’ve been doing a lot of research and soul searching, and I’m just finding the benefits of spirituality, and some people when they hear that word they think magic and spirits and all that shit, but spirituality is a way of life it’s learning yourself, learning your flaws, making your self a better person than you were yesterday and finding and fixing pass traumas that u never dealt with. It’s way more to it than that but that’s the roots to the tree, and meditation, eating right and etc is the branches.
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
L.O Heemz : My favorite music genre is hiphop, but lately with the new hiphop music I’ve been hearing I’m not really impressed or inspired, so I’ve been listening to more indie alternative type music.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
L.O Heemz : Nah not really, I like to keep working and pushing. I learned that nothing goes as planned so I try not to think about it to much. I just want to grow my brand be able to provide and live comfortable. N if I had goals I wouldn’t really say what it is because sometimes when u put your goals out there some energy aka people energy may try to stop it, some people don’t want you to achieve your goals because they doubt theirs. Like j Cole said “if they don’t know your dreams, they can’t shoot it down”.
