Interview with multi talented HB Smooth

Today on our Hot Seat we have talented and inspiring DJ HB Smooth with us. Let’s have a chat with him.

Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
HB Smooth : Well, when I first started I was making Chicago juke/footwork music. I was making juke tracks for all my female supporters. Then I started deejaying mansion parties, those mansion parties was fun as hell. But its also how I learned about how grimy promoters were. Which in turn made me set a high goal to take over the internet with mixtapes. And just take over the internet in general. At that time I didn’t really know which direction to go in. Until I deejayed a party and ended up on some slow jams and R&b. When I say that party moved differently it moved differently. And after that, I just started playing around with R&b mixtapes and looking for indy R&b artist everywhere to place on my mixtapes.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
HB Smooth : Dj Nephets & Dj drama

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent project?
HB Smooth : I dropped a actual mixcd called College Freak 54. It has a mixture of throwbacks and a few indy artist on it.

Twist Online : What kind of response have you received from the release?
HB Smooth : It was a decent response, I did have several people tell me how many times they replayed it.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
HB Smooth : I would have to say performing on stage. Because I get to control the crowd

Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a DJ?
HB Smooth : Finding artist to break.

Twist Online : Our readers would like to know about your relatable sketches?
HB Smooth : I make a lot of trial and error sketches that are not funny.I just call them relatable content with something random at the end, meaning if you can relate to the video then that’s good. For instance, the video called “How temp agencies are” well that was a real-life experience for me. Because every time I looked up the temp agency was sending me hours away from my house. So I made a video about it and I wasn’t trying to be funny because I do not consider myself a comedian.

Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?
HB Smooth : I might drop a few more mixtapes & I have a few collabs with other social media influencers coming up.

Twist Online : You got huge following on facebook? What’s the best way to follow you for updates? Facebook? Or you are active on other social platforms as well?
HB Smooth : Yes, just follow my facebook.com/hbsmooth or http://twitter.com/djhbsmooth
