Interview with multi-talented Jessica Shores
We are sharing our recent interview with multi talented Jessica Shores
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Jessica Shores : My name is Jessica Shores and I am a music artist out of Orange County, California. Singer, rapper, dancer, producer – I love to do it all!
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Jessica Shores : My biggest inspiration was always David Bowie. In my eyes he was a true artist – unique, important and someone who superseded music. His movie Labyrinth was what really got me into the arts. I also love Chris Cornell and Audioslave, Selena, Nirvana, Aerosmithand Lil Debbie. I think you can hear a little bit of all of these artists in my music.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release ?
Jessica Shores : My latest release is called Got The Jack Daniel Blues. It’s a song which uses the Jack Daniel’s whiskey brand as a metaphor for a guy who treats me right, to ease the pain of another guy who abuses me emotionally. The same way someone would pick up a bottle of alcohol when they are stressed or hurting.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the releases so far?
Jessica Shores : Amazing. I have performed the song at the World Famous Comedy Store in Hollywood when I was on the Ding Dong Show, and everyone absolutely loved it. I’ve also gotten a lot of positive feedback on social media about it.
Twist Online : You have suffered from a rare mitochondrial disorder you must have had a tough time?
Jessica Shores : Yes I have. The disorder can cause bouts of illness which leave me hospitalized and unable to do anything until I receive the right treatment. I need to take medication in order to deal with the symptoms of the disorder.I’ve been able to tough it out at times though at shows – the adrenaline from performing is a powerful thing and Itry to give my fans the best show I can.
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music artist?
Jessica Shores : Just being able to channel my feelings and emotions into something tangible. Pain, pleasure, happiness and sadness don’t have a purpose if they’re bottled up. A song is like a time capsule that lets you freeze an emotion in time, and put it to a beat. It’s almost like keeping a journal of the most important moments of your life, and it’s the best way to release your feelings.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Jessica Shores : I’d like to keep making songs like my latest single, Got The Jack Daniel Blues. I sing and rap, and I love both. But many people have told me that the lane I am in with Jack Daniel and Gold is what they like best. With these types of songs, I can actually make something intelligent and meaningful, melodic and passionate.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Jessica Shores : Of course! I am going to be releasing at least 3 new songs to go on my new EP, alongside Jack, Gold, and maybe a couple other songs I’ve already recorded. Look for them to come out soon!
