Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your music career.
Blvck Jagger : I started my professional career in music with as songwriter and assistant for a Producer and Songwriter named Detail Fisher(Lil Wayne, Beyoncé, Akon) , from there I worked as a songwriter with another producer Derryck “Big Tank” Thorton(Boondocks Missy Elliot)and Erik “Bluetooth” Griggs(Chris Brown, Jordin Sparks, Dr. Dre) to Damon Thomas formerly of the Underdogs. Until I started a Rock band with my friends and another dope producer i met through Blu2th named Tony Harvey he produced a lot of records on my projects and all the ones with my band. He’s a genius in being a producer and visionary. But truthfully I started my career in frequency early on in my life once i knew words had an affect on people.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Blvck Jagger : Music for me is an innate thing. As it is with us all. So I’ve always been a creator. I trust my instincts and my truth so that’s how the process starts. I knew at a young age I wanted to Free People. So I needed a resonance and that was music. Sound and frequency. It’s important to know that words truly mean things. So I knew the words and the Resonance I wanted to emit. The canvas then was set. I chose the medium of music to channel my energy for now. My whole family has musical talent so it’s like a tribal thing it’s spiritual thing. I just wanted a place of unlimited.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “Welcome 2 L.A.” ?
Blvck Jagger : Welcome 2 LA it’s a vibe. Lol no really I had an idea about literally what I believe a perfect day in Modern Los Angeles sounded and felt like I called a great guitar melody and songwriter . I love to tell stories this was a cautionary tale over a sunny pacific coast highway sunset, hanging with the love of your life or your tribe or family type of energy. I’m from Compton, Ca but I love nature, I’m also Native American so it’s apart of me. I needed young people to see a different perspective about Los Angeles besides the propaganda media against people who look like me. My music is designed to push the aesthetics of copper-colored people forward. It’s a New Paradigm for a new time. Ultimate freedom of life and creativity in a natural way. I’m participating in the pioneering of a new world with other like minds. Welcome 2 LA is a part of that tapestry.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Blvck Jagger : The Response is great I’m really grateful to do what I Love. I’m grateful as well for this interview just to be heard is really the only response our hearts want. So I love that it’s being received well by people.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, Working in studios or performing on stage?
Blvck Jagger : I would have to say the thing that most attracts me is Performance. I’m very much a Now person. Our most powerful moments come in the present the mindful place because it’s sad we don’t get to live our lives as fluid as they designed but the great thing about our will and choice is it’s continuous. That’s why performing for me is the best i meet the people and they receive me in that moment and that the best feeling about music the untamed spirit of freedom of expression. Performance Transmutation.
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music artist?
Blvck Jagger : The part about my artistry in the space of music is that my music is created with the moment in mind. I write songs for the soul and the heart. My music allows me to be the most vulnerable so it’s always genuine there my music is connected to my spirit so it has to be that way. My stories experience I write from a perspective that allows people to not either learn, feel or have an out of body experience touch parts of themselves they’ve forgotten. In a time when everything is digital the majority of the sound and my content is designed to beyond anything else remind each listener they are first a person beyond anything.
Twist Online : Have you set any goals to achieve?
Blvck Jagger : Yes I have things I’m working on but what’s most important is what what I’m doing now. So let’s focus here. I’m excited that people are in tune with the music I’m putting out.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Blvck Jagger : Yes I am I’m working on two EPs and a short film project.
