Interview with music artist Dacatindahat
Today on our Hot Seat we have Dacatindahat, an independent artist and independent recording label CEO. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Dacatindahat : Hello everyone, I’m Dacatindahat. Not to be confused with Dr. Seuss, but pronounced the same.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Dacatindahat : I was first inspired by my Aunt who always sang for me with an amazing voice. I always wanted to sing as well as her. As i got older i became fond of the musical genius of Stevie Wonder and vocal stylings of Aaron Hall.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “Every Girl In The World” ?
Dacatindahat : “Every Girl In The World” was actually not supposed to be what it has become. It started as an attempt to create an R&B song based on the Young Money single of the same name, based on the hook from their song “I wish i could f*** every girl in the world”. It was catchy and i felt I could expand on it as an R&B tune. However, as i put the beat together, it screamed to be a Hip Hop joint. I called in the talents of Supa Smoove and Jay Gram to give it a bit more street cred with my vocals meshed in, and we came up with a pretty nice collaboration

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Dacatindahat : So far the release has been well received. Within the first two days out on Spotify we were able to gain a bit of traction with over 500 streams.
Twist Online : You are also CEO of your independent Record Label. Tell us more about your label?
Dacatindahat : Dacatindahat Productions, the label is a grass roots endeavor. Its built on the foundation of establishing good music. There is a certain heart and feel of R&B music, a sense content and truth to Hip Hop and Rap that seems to be missing from music today. This is not to say that the artists out there are not good, they are very talented but the art form seems to have lost its way. I hope to bring forth artists who believe in the art of the music and not just seeking to put out a catchy track.
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music artist?
Dacatindahat : I love music. Music is life to me. The best part of being an artist is being able to tell stories that hopefully can reach out and speak to those who listen to them.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Dacatindahat : Yes i have. As an artist, the goal is to be that drive to show that real music can still be a focal point even with how the music industry has changed. As a label owner, my goal is to help guide those independent artists who don’t have direction and give them a platform to display their talent.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Dacatindahat : In fact we are. We have an upcoming video for “Every Girl In The World”. Our key artist, Shasza, will be following up her debut single “Bae Day” with a new single “No More” due out in December.
