Interview with music band “Jaws of Brooklyn”

We are sharing our recent interview with a very talented music band Jaws of Brooklyn.

Pro Media Mag : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers?
Jaws of Brooklyn :
Jaws of Brooklyn is a Seattle based band inspired by 60’s Garage Rock and Soul. We recorded our album The Shoals in Florence Alabama at Sundrop Sound and are releasing in the summer of 2022.

Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to launch your band “JAWS OF BROOKLYN”.
Jaws of Brooklyn :
Jaws of Brooklyn formed when Zia, Paul and I met singer Lindsay Love in Seattle during the height of the COVID pandemic in August 2020. We wanted to make music that was influenced by the sounds of the 60’s. What we came up with was a slab of 60’s inspired garage Rock and Soul with lots of fun percussion and simple arrangements. It was the perfect antidote for a time when we were locked in our homes and feeling uncertain.

Pro Media Mag : Why the name “Jaws of Brooklyn”?
Jaws of Brooklyn :
We are based in Seattle. We recorded in Florence Alabama. Yet we are called Jaws of Brooklyn? The quick story is that before meeting singer Lindsay Love four years ago Paul, Bryan and Zia ended up mixing a couple of song demos in Brooklyn. (We eventually reworked the songs for Jaws of Brooklyn debut record). After a fun night of romping through Brooklyn, we picked the name – Jaws of Brooklyn.

Pro Media Mag : Our readers would like to know the band members and their roles in the music band ?
Jaws of Brooklyn :
Our singer is Lindsay Love, Zia plays percussion and drums, Paul plays bass and Bryan plays guitar

Pro Media Mag : Tell us about your upcoming music Album?
Jaws of Brooklyn :
The Album is called the Shoals co-produced by Ben Tanner and the band. Its 10 songs that run the gambit from tremolo flavored rockers to organ driven soul songs. The sound of the record is a deep 60’s vibe complete with analog keyboards and bells played by Ben. We wrote 2 songs with Chris Seefried and Alabama Shakes/Brittney Howard vocalists Shanay Johnson and Karita Law added their voices for background vocals.

Pro Media Mag : What kind of response are expecting from the release?
Jaws of Brooklyn :
We loved making this record and hope that people love the music and the spirit as much as we do.

Pro Media Mag : What attracts you more, Working in studios or performing on stage?
Jaws of Brooklyn :
There is an amazing feeling of being in the studio and hearing a song finally recorded and BUT WE LOVE PLAYING LIVE so…..both!

Pro Media Mag : What makes Jaws of Brooklyn different from other bands?
Jaws of Brooklyn :
At our core The Jaws of Brooklyn are a rock n roll band that embraces 60’s rock and soul without the kitsch factor. We love the simplicity of drums, bass, keys and guitars supporting Lindsay’s vocals.
