Interview with Paul Marz, a first generation Egyptian-American rapper

Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Paul Marz :
My name is Paul Marz, I am an MC from Staten Island, New York.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Paul Marz :
Being from Staten Island, I was heavily influenced by Wu-Tang growing up. I remember being captivated by the sounds and samples at a young age. As I got older I’d listen to artists like Big Pun, LOX, Eminem etc. and got into the deep lyrical content. That was the art side as far as the content I was inspired by. When it came to actually pursuing music, I was inspired by my peers and friends around me who were taking steps towards the craft at a young age.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release ?
Paul Marz :
My most recent release “Death of a Star, Rise of a Titan” is an album about conquering your ego and finding your path. It was produced by J. Glaze and is my own documentation of the journey of finding myself.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Paul Marz :
Thankfully, I am receiving the response I’d hoped for. A lot of my dedicated fans have expressed their love for the project and new ears are embracing it as well.

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Paul Marz :
Hip-hop is my favorite music genre with reggae at a close second.

Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music artist?
Paul Marz :
The best part of being an artist is the freedom to express yourself and explore your creative boundaries. As well as working with other like-minded individuals.

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Paul Marz :
Yes, I’ve been teaching myself how to produce through online tutorials and hope to produce my own project this year.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Paul Marz :
Currently working on a new project with a producer by the name of P Soloist from Amsterdam to be released later this year.
