Shayla Hamady

Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
Shayla Hamady : It all started when I won a contest to fly to NYC and meet Austin Mahone in 2013. While I was sitting down with him, I mentioned me singing. He told me to never give up
and to not lose faith. When I went back to my home state the next day, I immediately began posting more YouTube videos, writing more songs, and just getting my name out there.
Ever since then, the feedback has been amazing.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Shayla Hamady : The feeling of music is what inspired me to get into the music industry. Every time I sing or am able to create my own music, I get this crazy feeling inside me.
It never fails to make me smile and has always been there for me and that’s what I want to share with everyone in the world.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “Limits”?
Shayla Hamady : I wrote the song, “Limits,” a few months back. When the producer, Mantra, sent me the beat, I knew the outcome would be amazing. It’s about facing life and all it’s struggles, all of it’s ups and downs and just fighting through it. While
life can be scary, but there’s no reason not to fight. I’ve definitely learned that throughout the course of doing music.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Shayla Hamady : So far from the release, I have seen many inspired from the song which is ultimately my goal. I love being able to see how my music affects people. It’s the greatest feeling.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Shayla Hamady : That’s a hard one, but I would have to say performing on stage. You get to hear and see the response to your music right in front of you.

Twist Online : Do you need some inspiration or some particular kind of environment for writing a song?
Shayla Hamady : It takes me awhile to find a beat I actually want to work with. Even if I produce my own. But once I do find that good beat, that is definitely an inspiration to write an amazing song. As far as environment goes, I could write anywhere, as long as it’s quiet.

Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
Shayla Hamady : Ofcourse. Well my first target would have to be wanting everyone to know my name. I want people in my hometown to move past the point of doubting that I can make it in this world and just believe. Another target on the side is to make it to California. I absolutely love it there.

Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?
Shayla Hamady : All of the time I am writing new songs for YouTube videos and performing in general! I also have a side duo called, “Hands Painted Red,” that my boyfriend Troy Martincic and I are always writing songs for.
We usually perform at a local tattoo shop but hope to extend to other places.

Twist Online : Are you active on social media? what’s the best way to follow you online?
Shayla Hamady : Yes! The best way to follow me online would be Instagram and Twitter. I am always active on those. My Twitter is @shaylahamady and my Instagram is @shaylahamady 🙂
