Interview with Rapper & Producer Rabbit the Kid
Today on our Hot Seat we have Rabbit the Kid, a talented rapper and producer from Florida with us. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Rabbit the Kid : Yo my names Rabbit, and I’m the Kid. I’m the Florida panhandle native rapper and producer that’s tryna be the face of Florida DIY artists.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Rabbit the Kid : Early on in my childhood, Eminem was that main source of musical inspiration. As I evolved so did the music and things I drew inspiration from. Life inspires me to do music now.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent project?
Rabbit the Kid : My latest project was The Kid Named Rabbit Nobody Knew (TKNRNK). It was definitely my first project where I devoted the song concepts to whatever I felt, instead of a specific subject. It definitely changed the way I write and produce beats. The songs are unique, the beats and lyrics fit together well, and I executed how I wanted as a rapper. Still, this project is just a stepping stone.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Rabbit the Kid : Honestly it was the same response I’ve gotten for all my work. I wouldn’t say my music has its own generic sound already, but I could definitely tell after the fact that TKNRNK was kind of a Misfit part 2. And I think most of my homies did to. Which isn’t a bad thing, but it definitely means whatever’s next has to be different.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Rabbit the Kid : A year ago would have been a different response, but definitely getting in the studio. I’ve gotten way heavy into producing and the studio is my element. I don’t even have to record, I could just be sitting back coming up with beat concepts and I would be home.
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Rabbit the Kid : Alt. Rap. Mostly the underground stuff, but anything that has the artist singing and rapping. I love that.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Rabbit the Kid : Right now my goals are making better music and increasing my fan base. Quality content in front of a more people. Other than that I would really like my beat game to take off.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Rabbit the Kid : As of right now, I’m just busting out singles to keep music flowing out. But I’ve got a joint EP with my dude Blac Kev, and a joint EP with my bro J. Milla. Two totally different styles and concepts and I’m so psyched to get that out.
