Interview with Recording Artist/Producer Mystah Spaulding

Today on our Hot Seat we have Mystah Spaulding with us. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Mystah Spaulding : What’s up everyone?!?!? I’m Mystah Spaulding I’m a Recording Artist/Producer and Co- Founder of the Cesspool Asylum Artist Collective. I have rapped with other local heads since 2009. Now I’m 24 years old with a hunger like no other in the game!

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Mystah Spaulding : I was deeply infatuated by all kinds of music since I was young and have always had special ear for anything musical. I started singing when I was younger in the choir of the church I attended at the time with my family. From there I kept honing my vocal skills throughout my life as a singer/guitarist for a couple different bands. In High school I got especially interested in my skills as an emcee. I have a story to tell and the best way for me to tell it is through my music.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent work?
Mystah Spaulding : Lately, I feel I’ve been on some other level. Started producing my newest project all by myself, Of course with the occasional help from Grim. He and I just click as a team. But the newest thing to come forward would be the first ever EP to drop after starting the Cesspool Asylum Artist Collective, (or CAAC if you will) The Irish EP! This EP is entirely produced by Grim Singmuf, My Homie and Partner in the Cesspool. I’m currently starting another, Full length album. That one is produced by me, and is definitely different.

Twist Online : You had been working with record label “Earworm Entertainment”. Any particular reasons behind leaving that and starting your own music collective called “Cesspool Asylum”?
Mystah Spaulding : First off, Let me just say that Yes I was with the Earworm Entertainment Artist Collective (EwEAC) and unfortunately, Things didn’t seem to work out. It happens every now and then, But Canna CDK, and various other EwE Artists still do work with Grim and I. It’s kinda like fate kicked in there though, and shit sucked for a while, but then one day I hit up grim and was like hey, why couldn’t we put something successful together? It worked with Gumdrops (A song we collabbed on while I was on Earworm). And the Idea for the Cesspool was born.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Mystah Spaulding : Although I love hopping up in the booth and trying to slay that mic with everything I spit, the Ultimate High for me anyway is performing my music live! All the pain and doubts and shit, they all drain away and in the moment the Beat drops and it’s just me and the crowd. It’s Just absolutely the best high there is!

Twist Online : We also heard about your friendship with producer and recording artist “Grim Singmuf”. How important has this friendship proved to be in your professional life?
Mystah Spaulding : Grim and I go back like I said earlier, to my time on EwE he hit me up one day saying he was trying to Collab and so we put together a track he produced called Gumdrops. This stylewas different for me even in the writing and recording processes, and I really liked that. Grim and I stayed in touch all the way up even to today, we still talk everyday about real life and business stuff. He’s my Cesspooligan Brother down with Cesspool since day one! We work well with each other because we just get one another, and the fact that we’re very like-minded in Business just makes it that much easier and much sweeter in the long run when the payoff hits.

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Mystah Spaulding : I have indeed set goals, both personally, in my personal life, as well as for Mystah Spaulding, My Professional life, and for the Cesspool as well. Grim and I Talk daily about our goals for cesspool, Right now those goals are to assemble an awesome start to a team, and we’ve signed a few talents to our collective! We’ve come really far already to establishing ourselves as a legitimate entity in the underground, and all of our artists and talents, are definitely ready to bring it. There’s some other stuff in the works with Earworm that has yet to be announced, but definitely keep your eyes peeled to the Cesspool website (www.cesspoolasylumac.com) cause there’s some fresh stuff there, Including some musics and other articles and stuff like that. Definitely check out www.earwormonline.com too, Earworm got a fresh as hell roster!

Twist Online : Anything else you would like to share with our readers?
Mystah Spaulding : I’d like to thank y’all for interviewing me. Definitely much love to the fans of Grim and I, as well as the Cesspool as a whole! We love every fan that we get and we feel like people that feel us and our roster, they’re family. I’d personally like to also thank everyone that reads this article, keep checking in on us because I feel like we’re going to do some big things as a family.
