Interview with Singer and Songwriter Rebecca Relansay

We are sharing our recent interview with Rebecca Relansay singer and songwriter from London.

Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
Rebecca Relansay : I started working in touring shows across Europe, then after moving to London, I have performed in bands, released music for a German Record Company, worked with UK and International Songwriters and now my new venture, writing my own solo music!

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Rebecca Relansay : Attending a Dance School and Theatre Company from a young age, I just knew it was something I was going to do. I decided the music side of performing was the direction I wanted to take after relocating to London and working in the music industry.

Twist Online : Tell us about your debut release “Church of Lies”?
Rebecca Relansay : It’s my first solo release that I’ve written. I worked with Simon Reid & John Santana and I’m so happy with the results! A darker side of love about a romance gone wrong, it has a orchestral track with a pop sensibility.

Twist Online : You also released the video of the track. What was the inspiration behind that video?
Rebecca Relansay : I really wanted the visuals to play a big part of the release. To bring the song to life and to also reflect my love of vintage gothica. We were so lucky to find such a beautiful
chapel to shoot it in and I’m over the moon with the final piece.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Rebecca Relansay : It’s been absolutely fantastic! The song is a little different to what’s out there at the minute, so I love that people are responding to it so well.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Rebecca Relansay : A few years ago I would have said performing on stage but as I’ve started to take songwriting more seriously, it has to be 50/50. Creating music has been so inspirational and something I hope to continue.

Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
Rebecca Relansay : I just really wanted to put music out there that I felt was me as an artist. Music that I had 100% say in and that I could be proud of. I have more to come so who knows what the future holds!

Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?
Rebecca Relansay : My solo music is my main focus now. I have more songs lined up and they will be released in the near future!
