Interview with SK The Magnificent

SK The Magnificent was born in Attleboro, Ma where he’s spent his life perfecting his craft in the underground rap scene. This young talent has the wit, lyricism, and an unmatched hunger that sends shock-waves through the hearts and minds of his audience! We are sharing our recent interview with him.

Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
SK The Magnificent :
I’m SK The Magnificent, Newest artist signed to the Cesspool Asylum Artist Collective , I am 28 years old and have been doing music in some form or other since 2003. Since then I’ve had a natural willingness to only put out the best rhymes over the sickest of beats.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
SK The Magnificent :
To be totally honest, my friends (most of whom were part of the Hip Hop community, whether DJ’s or rappers) who with me being so shy, pushed me to spit freestyles and that’s what kicked it off. I owe a lot of credit to local cats like Dodadgotbars. Also I got to give credit to artists like Vinnie Paz.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release project?
SK The Magnificent :
The SK EP has a deep connection to my everyday life and you can hear in the Bars that I definitely had a fire put under my ass pretty early on, however it kinda has to be that way because I’m my own worst critic.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
SK The Magnificent :
As of this point, The project has yet to be released, and already the anticipation appears to be mounting during the awaiting stage. I can say with perfect certainty that this EP WILL drop VERY VERY SOON!

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre? How do you feel about the current state of hip hop?
SK The Magnificent :
I can’t really say I have a favorite, to be perfectly honest. I was raised on just about any genre of music you could think of. As for where I stand on the current state of Hip Hop, I can honestly say that I don’t hate where Hip Hop has gone, however, It’s a little Harder to get into because it’s not what it was like when it was founded for instance.

Twist Online : How do you know the recording artist Mystah Spaulding?
SK The Magnificent :
Our relationship has been ongoing for about 16 years, and I regard Spaulding as like a cousin/nephew/Homie, and of course as like a brother being as how we are on the same label.

Twist Online : Do you need some particular environment for writing songs?
SK The Magnificent :
Sometimes, I like to be in my own zone, usually in my room, just contemplating some of life’s harder questions and paradoxes.

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
SK The Magnificent :
I’d just prefer to be known. To me it’s not really about material things, or other shit like that. I just want to be successful and hopefully with everything I’ve been through, I may be able to help someone else out who may be going through something similar.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
SK The Magnificent :
I aim to do as much as possible. Singles, EP’s, Full lengths, Photos, all of that, My style is kinda “Be the thorn in their side, until they Can’t ignore you anymore”.
Thank You Very Much!
